| | | Titan quest got kind of boring compared to D2. Anybody else feel this way. Diablo 2 and it's expansion had a lot more pizazz to it, to me. Diablo 2, well, it was more addicting due to how much more you could customize with it. Sure the skills weren't all that customizable, but they were various in the sense that no two were alike. Titan quest, the skills, most of them kind of suck for the actual purpose of the skill.
Diablo 2- You could customize skills just right to get synergies, bonuses to stats, bonuses to the skill from other stats, and so forth.
Titan quest- most are either summons or attack boosts. Nothing more.
And then their are the items. Titan quest, while it does have a lot of items, is very limited in how they work. I mean, when I go from normal to epic, I didn't really expect to see "epic boar hide" rather than "boar hide." All it was, was more armor, more of something you already have, wheras, Diablo 2, you could make combinations with runes and gems, give weapons new effects, chances to cast spells and skills not normally on your list, new types of damage even.
I've been playing titan quest for about two and a half weeks now, and I'm severely bored. Diablo 2, I put in over a thousand hours with that game, one thousand. That's about a month and a third of time, that's a LOT of gaming. Why? Because diablo 2 had more features.
Now, I am sure that when custom mods come out for titan quest, I'll change my opinion, but for now, does anybody else feel the same? Diablo 2 had more items/item combinations, more skill combinations, more monsters, and so forth.
Anybody feel what I feel? Diablo 2....a better game and not just because of seniority? |

| | I partly agree, on bnet theres no doubt, d2 is wayyy better, with runes words and so many items, so many options ect`, but on single player d2 is unplayable, it takes too much time to level alone, too hard to find items and basicly impossible to make high rune words.
Now I havent played tq on the net so i'm not so sure how it goes, but it seems that d2 is more of a net game and tq single player, in single, tq is much better...
But in any case, I dont see how can any game take the spot in my heart that d2 has , spent 3 years of my life on that game.. its just legendary. |

| | | See, I've never played on battle.net, I absoloutely despise multiplayer in general, so I've always played single player and it's still awesome, especially with that code, /players 8. |

| | Single player here as well and all I can say is how did you last two and a half weeks? I completely agree, I stopped around half of epic and am not sure I'll go on. This is actually something I have experienced with DS2 as well, though I did complete the second difficulty there. Simply put, there's not enough there to hold my attention now that I've completed the first run, so yes, we do agree.
Oh and one more thing - I have been having a terrible sense of deja-vu while playing this game, it reminded me something awful about DS and DS2. I actually found it somewhat annoying.

| | | I have not been playing TQ for a very long time, maybe 20 hours total so I am not bored yet but I very much doubt that I'll get as addicted to it as I was to Diablo II and LOD. I recently deleted all my accounts and gave away all my stuff after playing the game right from the moment it was released. Gaming with the same title for nearly 7 years is not something I expect to see happening with another game any time soon or even ever unless maybe Diablo III happen. I'd say it's normal process but also a bit unfair to compare any game with one of the standard of the genre which was polished through out many years and many patches. The guys at Blizzard must have done something right and pushed all the right buttons, I mean there is still many ten of thousands of people playing this game on Bnet every week end.
For the time being, I am having fun with this game and I am happy that someone is creating games in a genre that I like. TQ is, at least for now, not as good as Diablo II but it's certainly better than other game I have tried through the last couple of years.

| | I have been playing the Diablo series for 10 years now , from diablo 1 to Lod. Thees last 3 years , I have yernd for somthing to take its place. Especialy for battle net. I am the coplete oppsiste. I play battle net only. why? becouse its way more addicting to go out and build sick characters ,and collect some sick loot and then show it off to everyone , or use it to help others or just join plain old fashion pk games and see what others have come up with in terms of a godly character. Tq is the closest game to replace diablo for me , and while I am still addicted to it , I can totaly agree that I am not nearly as addicted to diablo and still am. I usualy stop playing for a few months and move on to somthing els , but then , it just starts calling to me. as far as items are concernd , Tq is kind of like when Diablo 2 very first came out , and you could find rare weapons and armor that were far supeior to the unique ones at the time. I find rare (green) weapons and armor that are some timesw way better in terms of dmg and def than some of the purple and blues out there. BUT I have read official interviews fo titan quest online and in game mags , and it sounds like they are going to be adding even more content to the game in terms of items and such. What i would realy liek to see is some kind of a Stable server or closed severs with relms for online play. I especialy love thee idea that you can ban people from your games already , huge advangtage over d2 right there. In my eyes , this game could be as good as D2 , if they just added a few patches with some new content to it. Untill then , I completly agree that D2 is funner in many aspects than Tq , but the games still farly new , and theres plenty more time for patches with new content and things like that. |

| | | They said that they didn't have time to include all the content they wanted due to deadline but are adding the content through patches. So I think the game will be much better with the upcoming patches.

| | | At this point, I say no. I'm still learning and experiencing the new things. I can see the potential for less of an addiction, partly due to no ATMA type program, but also due to less people I know playing it. Roommate won't be able to afford it for awhile (car and we are moving) and guy at work gave this HORRIBLE review of it to the 10 or so of us in the email group. I tried to defend it, but he's calling the Diablo comparison a bad thing. |

| | | I know I'm still enjoying Titan Quest! Have actually only completed it once; still busy playing around with different character combinations. And being able to play only on days off helps to make it last too.
Yeah, the game has a few issues, like lack of closed servers, lack of character models, item storage, etc. But Iron Lore is still a small company on its first game, so I'm hoping they'll do well enough to be able to afford things like closed servers in the near future. And as another poster mentioned, the devs said there was a lot of stuff they didn't have time to put in the game. So I'm hoping we'll see that in updates and expansion packs.
D2 was a good game, but since we're unlikely ever to see D3 (what with Blizzard North and the Diablo devs being long gone), here's hoping that Titan Quest will be a suitable replacement... |

| | | There is an ATMA Do a serach for TQVault for and ATMA replacement.
I think that the lack of randomly generated areas is going to be the biggest thing keeping TQ from taking over the D2 throne. |

| | Long story short, TitanQuest has far more potential than Diablo2 since Blizzard is obsessed with squezzing their cash cow WoW and the original designers long gone.
Diablo2 SinglePlayer is playable & usually done on "/players8" so there is no "too slow leveling" or "too hard to find items", unless your idea of finding items is bnet trading. If anything it can be easier to find items since you have the option of keeping the same map for MF runs. And unless you suck at playing Diablo2 you don't need ridiculously overpowered grey bland-looking runewords. I personally would rather find or hunt in vain for a Zod then trade in BNet with all the dupes, cheats and such that occurs. Finally, the best multiplayer experience is a LAN where you don't miss a single reaction or statement of another player.
Also judging TitanQuest:Normal-Epic is like only judging Diablo2:Normal-Nightmare. The real challenge and fun in Diablo2 is in Hell for the most part. Sadly, too many game companies make these "too easy" difficulty levels that you're forced to go through first. I haven't tried TitanQuest in Legendary, nevertheless, Diablo2:LoD does appear to have more to offer still. But as mentioned earlier Diablo2 won't get any better. TitanQuest also has an editor so if the TitanQuest community is as creative and dedicated as the NeverWinterNights community then there could be plenty of quality new worlds to play. |

| | | Diablo2 is what it is today tnxs to the patches that have been released, in other words has been improving with the years, Titan has yet to define how good will become, but atm, is a fair good game, nothing more.
What is realy sad about Titan,as Siberys stated is the futility of the items, wich are of BIG importance in every game, the bonuses provided for the set items (normal and legendary) are so...mmmm....silly in much of the cases, so whats the point of spending time looking for them?, another thing, weapon visual efects, if u are gonna give that to weapons u better do it GOOD, not the case here, is like a random thingie. Titan Quest has a long way to run. |

After that pause I tried to go back to it, and nah, still nothing there. Patches could help I am sure but I think I'll wait a good while before I try again and still even with those I don't think it'll ever hit my top 10 fav and best games.

| | | i actually doubt i will continue to play TQ after i beat it through normal. for the same reasons i quit playing D2. the idea of grinding to complete a set annoys me. Your counting on a chance that the mob will drop a set item, and that it's part of the set you need, and then also not one you already have. That gets pretty old. also, there are really very few complete sets that are really worth completing. also, by the time you spend farming for an set, you go up more lvlings, making the gear you find even more obsolete to the random blue/greens you could find if you just continued the game. I'll likely play this game just long enough to see NWN 2 come out. I play the game for the storyline mostly, to see the different areas and see what all the creators came out with. I'm definately looking forward to custom made games.
