The progress of difficulty (possible spoilers)

What do you guys think about the developing of difficulty during the game? I've only played on normal so far (as I bought the expansion) and I was a bit disappointed that it became increasingly difficult after Egypt. I found Egypt kind of easy but as soon as I entered Babylon my character started dying more often. In my opinion the difficulty should increase in a more steady rate. The monsters in the Orient are a little too powerful, especially those Dragonian armies. They tear the characters apart quite quickly. It was that way at least with my first character, which was really poor (read more in the Worst Builds section). Besides, I think that the Telkine in Egypt is easier to kill than the one in Greece.

When I arrived in Hades in Epic mode, I died much more frequently. I felt the same as you did. Because of that, I took a hard look at my equipment and began searching for better items when dropped and even at the shops. On one run, I lucked out and found two or three items that bumped my DPS up significantly and helped my defenses which made things easier. Not easy, but easier. If you've been using the same equipment for a while, take a look to see what you can improve. Or even look at a redistribution of your spell-points.
