Survival Instinct only work with pets?

I recently chose Nature as my accompanying skill to warfare (mainly for heart of oak - which greatly increases survivability for melee classes imo). I was also looking at the Survival Instinct skill and was wondering whether or not it only worked on your wolves or if it actually works on the player also. I can see a huge benefit if this skill is works on an actual player also (greatly increasing damage and 90% or so damage resistance...)

Cheers in advance for anyone that can help me out...

I looked it up and it doesn't saty anywhere that it'll only apply for pets.

But the thing is, it'll only activate when yer health is lower then 33%, so that's risky, and it'll only last 6 seconds.

Maybe I'm gonna start a new char with defense/nature, that should really be nice.

its not like a skill that takes 9999 skill points, you should try it and if your not satisfied you can eazialy take all the points out of the skill and invest them somwhere els

Doesn't seem to work for anyone, cept your wolvies. My Summoner Build can attest to this...as I only ever see wolves getting this effect. Plus, in the manual and in the game screen, it specifically says it applies to wolves' health.
