What weapon do i need to kill Nessus

Any will work, if you're having trouble with him you're build might be a little weak to start.

Sometimes its just your level. Try getting to level 6 by killing all the skeletons on the way to Nessus (good xp).

Another problem can be tactics. He has his centaurs followers but you can lure him away from them.

As Siberys says the skills you choose are also important.

Finally I once had him spawn with hand of kairos a level 14 blue weapon in his hand. Even though I saved up and bought 100s of life potions and tried to pot him to death he did so much damage that I couldn't kill him. (I'm pretty sure it was hand of kairos...looked like it)

potting to death is the strategy to use against Nessus. You hit until your life is half gone then run away drink a potion. Rinse and repeat.

If you can't beat him I think you can just continue up the path?? and beat him later (you get a skillpoint)...never tried that so I dont' know if the guards stop you or something.

I suggest u get to about level 7 b4 trying to take him down. Also buy a large amount of health potions. Use a hit and run strategy on him. always keep an eye on your health
