Legguards of the Flameborn?

Just sorting through the items in the database to scope out what is feasible for my Pyromancer when he gets higher level (hopefully) and note that there are next to no fire armour types or weapon types that don't require a huge amount of strength.....

An example of this is Legguards of the Flameborn....they add nicely to dex and int and everything flamewise but for some reason requires 590 strength to use them?.....

I think the requirements on some of the items in the database need a bit of a revisit since the majority of them have incredibly high strength requirements when they are (from what I can tell) targeted towards caster characters or range characters....

A little bit annoying because it is therefore forcing me to use only green or yellow text items in most cases to get any sort of bonuses towards fire damage % due to the requirements on the purple items being far to high for any caster character to obtain...

Makes for interesting situation.

Well, do you know this for a fact though, that it doesn't require strength. While it does sound ridiculous, I've seen weirder in the game itself.

If you can provide a correction though, of any kind, feel free to post an image of the item here for proof. That or PM buck, as I'm sure he'd gladly fix it when he's permitted the time.

the flameborn leggings would be good for a earth melee character. In particular a juggernaut could use armor handling to equip them easier.

there is a ring that gives 10% to strenght AND -20 reduction str requirements to armor and shield named Alke. A -20 requirements (str armor and shield) ring named timaois. Hephaestus molten shield requires 440 str and reduces requirements by 20%.

So if you had 1.1N = 440(.8) [N is strength]
N = 440(.8)/1.1
N = 320

For a juggernaut .....1.1N =440(.5)
N = 200 (would have to use a spear)

Now if you manage to find Lithe stonebinders cuffs of might or some other good item with Lithe modifier you can take even less strength....

Oddysseus armor, Etruscan Cuirass, Tiresias helm, and Thoths glory artifact has - requirements.....

Edit: symbol of polymath has +15%str,dex, int which might be better...

But its not worth it unless you plan on meleeing. But earth is good class for melee caster hybrids because it does physical and fire damage (not that physical spell damage is helped by str)

Plus some of those items are hard to find. I have 2 molten shields and once had the etruscan cuirass. I have the ring alke and timaios which is similar.

So say you had: Rhesus Whitewashed armor, alke, timaois, Tiresias, Lithe green, Thoths glory.... that would be pretty much -100 requirements

Edit: actually I am just starting to experiment with casters...I think the gear is lesser than melee gear too!

Edit: this might help....

Its magician gear (rogue/earth)....pyromancer is pretty similar (this gear is caster magician)

{credit goes to felixitus on titanquest.net for these selections}

Calypso's Cover
Seal of Hephaestus
Aphrodites Favour
Archmage's Diadem
Archmage's Leggings(all legenary caster based legs suck but 150 life are nice)
Archmage's Clasp
Fire build: Hades' Scepter (Consider this a good secondary for the granted Ancestral Horn too)

Also have a secondary staff ready to max your summons or use it as a main weapons to get much more skills.

Earth: Eye of Osiris / Summoner's Rod

Here are the stats:

Legguards of the Flameborn [Immortal Throne]
450 Armor

103% Fire Resistance
5% Chance of:
138 Fire Retaliation
1 Second Stun Retaliation
+39% Fire Damage
+17 Intelligence
+33 Dexterity
+18% Energy Regeneration
+256 Defensive Ability
+10% Movement
+1 to All Skills in All Masteries

Required Level: 49
Required Strength: 590

As you can see energy regen, + to intelligence and dex (like a lot of other caster armour types) and even + to def ability (potentially caster type again)

Have found this to be the case on a few items that are Purple text in database actually....a wee bit strange but I guess someone out there might find the build for it....may be lacking in a lot of other areas mind you as a sacrifice to be able to wear these but none the less they will have a smile knowing they are able to wear these nice fire boots.....

Yup, you are right Claudius in saying if there is a will there is a way however like you said these could only ever be worn by a char that has melee somewhere in its descriptor and considering they are mostly good for a caster type (from looking at the stats) I would say most melee types would rather go for Athena's or Barbarian greaves...

Agreed Claudius the items you have listed look very much like what my Dream/Spirit caster uses (with the exceptions of the staff and helm)....

Have to admit found one half decent staff that is epic level called Blastus Flotas (something like that) which is not bad....and saw that Eye of Osiris staff thingy in the database as a desirable but also realise that may be a wee bit of work trying to find it....have to admit though not a lot else focused towards a fire type caster....

You can be melee but still deal mostly elemental damage...thats what I was thinking. But you don't want 300 str using a staff I don't think haha. I haven't found good fire weapons yet but the Lykaeous Malleous and thunderbolt are great for lightning damage melee chars.

another thing weird about building around an element is that every item you have grants 100 resistance to fire but no other resist....

So you have like 500 fire resistance and negative 90 cold and lightning haha!

Agreed, makes the pure one element, one mastery build all the more challenging I guess....but one thing is for sure and that is I'll "OWN" those little firey demon critters...lol.

Nah, seriously I'll continue with Pyromancer. Someone has to try it through to the end. Yup, I may die a few more times than most and lack gear that is resembling anything of the "wow" or "legendary" status but if there is a will there is a way....just have to look for a stack load of those fire charms and decent green items that have fire bonuses to them....

look for some gear of the pegasus...I've definately seen the leggings around don't know if it is in other locations...

Gives elemental resist + movement + elemental damage

PS thats tough playing single mastery! wow!

Thanks for that, will look out for some pegasus gear then.
Yeah, its a bit of a challenge. Worth while though I think....and will be a good experiment as to whether or not there is survivability for a single class caster in the game (considering the lack of life due to a single mastery).

Have to admit it is a good challenge for anyone out there wanting to try something that will really test your build order so you can survive through to legendary....beating legendary however may be a whole different story....time will tell...
