How to transfer characters?

I have some TQ characters on my laptop that I want to transfer to my TQ on my desktop, is there a way to do this?

I know you can do it by re-installing TQ-IT. Before you install the xPac you can put the folders in the right directory and they will be converted for you, at least that worked for me. I also wonder if it is easier.

Can you just copy character folders and restart?
