Do I have enough power to tackle Cerberus?

I am a L39 Oracle with lightning and Wisp maxed out, I also have L2 Summon Leche King. I am armed with the Sabertooth saber and can deliver 369 points damage per second. I also have 80% protection from poison. so far I have died 3 times right at the gate. Should I try to level up or what do I need?

Please answer.

You need to get rid of lightning bolt and the sabertooth saber.

Lightning Bolt has good damage, but is too slow to have any chance against Cerberus. Plus, having a saber for a caster type character doesn't make much sense really.

I'd say get rid of both lightning bolt and the wisp, then put some ranks in the ice shard tree. Save one or two points to put into liche king, this way you can fire barrages of ice shards while the liche king blinds him with squall and then pounds on him with it's own spells.

What kind of weapon should I use, my Oracle has managed to wipe out just about everything with Sabertooth, should I use a Staff? So far all of my characters have been sword or bow and arrow users.

Yeah, definitely use a staff. Mainly because an Oracle should be putting most of his points into intelligence because INT boosts elemental damage (Fire, Ice, Lightning). The sword may be cool, but it's gonna get you nowhere in the long run.

Thanks for the help. I transferred my skill points around (cost me a fortune, but what's money? I sold my sword and shield and traded for a good staff. Wow what a difference. I think me and my Liche King can take anything, at least Cerberus (I hope, I hope).

Yeah, giving an Oracle a blade is a lot like giving a barbarian a spell tome, it's quite usable but it still doesn't fit the profession.

You can make a melee oracle but you need to spec your skills and farm the right gear. You want all the normal things (defense ie resists defensive ability) str to have armor, intelligence since if your not going to deal damage with lightning cold then you might as well not take storm. So you are stretched for stats and quality items that lower requirements are good. If you find two pieces of the crystalline array (legendary armor designed for storm) you get -20% requirements.

Its not the strongest build and will need to persist by farming greece and egypt untill gear drops and levels accrue. Could be fun though

Edit: I eat my words my build just got toasted by cerebus because my poison resist was too low. That just shows how key resists are. I forgot how difficult late epic and legendary are. I'm twinked crazy I don't know how to get better ???
