Dexterity Bow Questions

*Strength is defined by the in-game-character screen as
"Increases your base dmg on melee weapons."

Yet, Strength gives your bow more damage in TQ's interface character screen. Didn't the video game Sacred do the same thing?

*Does the Bow attack ever do a critical hit? I haven't really ever seen a critical hit with a bow. My Lv 12 Hunter has 224 Offense with Bow and 227 with Spear, and I noticed criticals appeared for the spear...but no criticals for the bow. Is this how it works? Do bows not have criticals?

*Am I okay to put all my bonus points into Dexterity, while allowing my Masteries (Hunting/Rogue)'s Strength points give me the minimum to wear Dexterity/Strength Armor? Is it beneficial/necessary to put points into Strength for a Bow-Brigand [Hunter/Rogue]?

Anybody? Can anybody shine some light on whether a bow-user even needs to deter from putting all points into Dexterity? Meaning: All bonus stat points go into Dexterity.

Thoughts?, Opinions?, Previous-Experiences?, ect.

I am an heavy bow user (Avenger, Bone Charmer, Ranger, anything ) and what i always do is to raise my strenght up to 150 exactly for tracker's set and evrything else is dex. Hp can help too if you really need it. Early on it's a real pain, but there IS some archer focused armor...it's just really rare hehe! Hope it helps, because sometimes i'm wondering if i'm the only one playing archer characters in this forum

Yeah, I use a Hunter Set that I accumulated from doing Epic Knossus runs with one of my melee characters. And I got Hunter and Rogue Masteries, so I easily break Strength of 150 without putting a single bonus point into Strength.

I was just wondering if it makes sense to put points into Strength beyond a Strength of 150. I wasn't sure about the damage output and about the enemies' resistances to physical damage and against pierce damage.

But, I guess dexterity makes the most sense to put points into for a bow-user...now that I think about it.
Pros for points into Dex:
1. Harder to hit with higher Defense (higher dex = higher Defense), Wood Lore also raises Defense by a percentage so you get a high Defense value.
2. Call of the Hunt, Puncture Shot, Study Prey deal in percentages of pierce...so the more dexterity, the higher the pierce damage.
Cons for points into Dex:
1. Less physical damage
2. Restrained to basically depend on using Hunter Set and Tracker Set for best gear.

Pros for points into Strength:
1.Just higher physical damage
2.Can wear heavier armor (which maybe a con)
Cons for points into Strength:
1. A loss of pierce dmg
2. A loss of Defense

Well, I guess I got my answer. Dexterity all the way. (I know I reasoned with myself, but sometimes it helps to write things out). Thanks for the webspace.
