I think the only thing that matters are the two swords you start out with, and your armour. By act II, you'll have replaced all that gear, though. All in all, the savegame import was a letdown.
There will be some spoilers ahead, read at your own risk. As far as I know, romance doesn't matter at all, as Shani isn't even present in TW2, and you're basically locked to Triss (that's not a bad thing for me, as I preferred her in the first game as well). As far as equipment goes, I found that you can import Moon Blade/Aerondight, along with Mahakaman Rune Sihil and Raven's Armor. There could be more steel swords which can be imported, but I didn't have savegames with those. Factions do matter, but not that much. If you sided with the Order, you can enter the city through the gates in Act III (Iorveth's path), just as normal, because Siegfried will be at the camp of the Order of the Flaming Rose. On the other hand, you'll also meet Siegfried if you went with Roche to get Anais. He'll be with the escort team you meet after you free her from Dethmold. Other minor details include if you saved Adda, then Radovid is married and Foltest will mention that choice of yours in the prologue. There's also Thaler's courier in Flotsam who gives you several useful stuff, though I don't know if he appears if Thaler died to De Wett in the first game (he shouldn't, as there's also a message that comes with Thaler from the courier). I think that's about it, though there may be a few more details which I missed in this post.
I had 16 000 orens in the first game, but I remember having to scrape for money in the second one, so they don't transfer. But I've also read about people who got several tenthousands of orens transferred. Might have been because of a bug.
I got both of the swords from the first game and 11000 orens, even if the first game I had more money!
Saved game import - The Witcher Wiki Witcher Wikia is great all around and happens to have some info on this
