That new level that's being made, about that. I'm curious. What kind of assets were there left in the game that made you realize something so huge was missing?
The assets were a lot of models whose name pointed to a missing library map, like a library card, a chandelier, book shelves, escalators, columns and more. After an old interview with Brian Mitsoda on Planet Vampire confirmed that "The building opposite the Venture Tower was the library, which was cut early on.", comparing the chandelier and other models with pictures of the LA public library showed that the level would have been similar to the real word. Which we try to do now, although we need some help with wall textures because there are not enough finished for the whole level. Anyone interested in making textures out of photos from the real world murals?
Cool. I can mess around a bit with Gimp, but I'm no texture artist. I can't make an 'artistic copy' out of nothing.
