That whole conversation is stupid, and I do not consider it cheating because I'm a freaking vampire, (in this case a Trem with dom 4) how could I not snatch the gun or just be like "drop it" or tackle them, or something. It's like that stupid ladder jumping puzzle in the ghost house. Like walking around a corner or doing a chin up is impossible for the undead. Noclip for the win.
While I agree that there is little way to know beforehand that you have to treat the sisters nicely all the time, from a game world perspective, Tourette (both sisters combined) is the Malkavian baron of Santa Monica and probably higher in generation than you. Try to dominate Therese and see yourself ! Now which one would this be?
"Try to dominate Therese and see yourself !" (etc) Fair point, but still I think this dialog puzzle is broken. "Now which one would this be?" The haunted house Therese makes you fetch the locket from. the elevator tries to fall on you and then you have to climb it and jump across and then walk the ledge except the engine is so atrocious that you fall every time and physics don't apply, and you can't correct mid air, and grabbing a ledge with your hands its just crazy talk. So after falling down the shaft about a dozen times because of dumb, I decided to noclip, which completely ruined the mood, guilt free hehe. Suddenly it stopped being vampire bloodlines and became Spastic Bloodlines: Where everyday actions are a challenge!
I balanced it somewhat in my patch because obviously Troika wanted the majority of players to not reconcile them and also Therese killing off Jeanette. I never had problems with that section. Crawling helps !
I've never been able to reconcile the two, but I'm pretty sure that different versions of Wesp's patch over the years have had different values required, or require the player does a specific sequence of events in addition to hitting the persuasion options (correct me if I'm wrong). Either way I don't really mind much... personally I think it's a bit of a weird cop-out that you can get the obvious "best" solution.
My new issue is a purely technical one. I'm not having much luck with search and this forum's layout is kind of alien to me so I'm just going to post about it here since I'm using the 8.1 patch. When I try to board the Dane, I get a "rookied cop" error message. Just like here: http://www.iphpbb.com/board/ftopic-17048899nx82467-1280.html I'll post there as well but I have to wait for an admin to activate my new account. My VTM bloodlines came from steam so no CD scratches for me hehe. Any advice? If this is too far off topic feel free to point me somewhere more fitting.
Yup they are there. File sizes look suitable. Also if it was just a random toasted file, I wouldn't have expected to find an identical error. Thanks for looking into it I love this game and I'm anxious to move forward. If I can't, is there some way to mark that quest as favorably completed? Via console command I mean like above with the twins?

Well that updated my log to include completion of the Dane quest but when I go to enter the Prince's building I get: Engine Error no precache: models/character/npc/unique/Hollywood/Gary/Nosferatu_Gary.mdl Where should I post this other than here? I hate hijacking people's threads even if they are dead.
I don't understand the question. I had the game saved just before I attempted to board the Dane, and got the error above, then I applied the console commands to skip the dane and went straight to report in and got the second error message. FYI to whom it may concern. I reinstalled, and applied the 8.1 patch (plus version) and copied over my saves and did the Dane mission without problems. Thanks for your help
I have an old, really old, walk through that I printed out a long time ago. It has all the conversations you need with Jeanette and Therese. I think it might be off because of the patches that Wesp has made. I did find another guide, and this is not a shameless plug.
