I dont know why, but I reinstalled the game today. I was just wondering what the building is that I see when I am on the way to Arnika. It has a sword and a gun crossed and says that the door cant be opened. I have seen the buildings before. What are they for? Also, dont you think Wizardry 8 it very similar to IWD, except its 3D?
Honestly, not at all. The IWD series are extremely linear slug-fests. The Wizardry series are completely non-linear puzzle-fests. (Yes, you have plenty of battles in Wizardry 8, but you can avoid many of 'em by backtracking and waiting for monsters to pass.) IWD is based on static, preset encounters. The monsters in Wizardry 8 move all the time. IWD uses AD&D rules; Wizardry doesn't. Character generation is totally different. The only thing I think they truly have in common is that both feature parties you create, as opposed to bringing NPCs into a party featuring one character you created (BG1, BG2, PS:T, Ultima VI/VII, etc). I'm not sure which building you mean--but if it's the one I suspect it is, the thing's an abandoned temple. The only way in is by finding a teleportal elsewhere that lets you teleport into it. Then, you can unlock it from the inside.
