both is a short answer, a more in depth answer would be that the new content (new zones, remade old zones, new quests, old quests changed, new dungeons, old dungeons changed) is great. what isnt good is that there is now a huge gap from 85 normal to 85 heroics(dungeon difficulty) while heroics to raids is pretty good. some of the new quests dont work properly or have bugs/problems and the worgen cant get a haircut yet but other than that the game is pretty good.

there is a reason wow is still here and that is because it does everything mostly bug free and even though it might not be the best at certain things its the best all around (for now that is).

the biggest change is to the starting zones and the talent trees what hasnt been changed is the bc and wotlk content.

also the portals in dalaran and shattrath are gone but replaced by class trainers and they both have an auction house now (been to the one in dal but havent looked for the shat one yet).

It's going great, it has everything and you can make a guild or arena team. I'm better off doing tanking, going through dungeons are great, and the world is awesome.

    So which server you on?

personally I think Cataclysm is a huge improvement. while I didn't hate WotLK as much as many claim to, there were undoubtably some flaws in it and Cata improves on most of those and more

the 1-60 levelling is much, much more fun since the much needed overhaul, but
Outland and even Northrend seem a tad dated in comparison now, and especially need a little suspension of disbelief over the bizarre time line changes during 60-80

heroics are more challenging than they were in WotLK. some think this is good, some think it's bad. personally I like it, and they're not too difficult either, just need to make use of crowd control and some tactics now, so no more running through spamming aoe

raids are much more fun, the boss fights are a lot more original and most have some specific unique twists to them. gone are the boring tank and spank or recycled "it's like RaidBoss939 but with two abilities from RaidBoss1042 thrown in"

the new races are fun, and Gnomes finally have a healing class

Is there an option to disable xp gaining yet? Or at least did they disable xp gain from alterac valley? If so, then i may ressurect Stworca :D I've had the most fun on 60 bracket. Not sure about WoTLK or C for that matter, but outland made me gag and vomit at the same time.

    Ahoy

    update

i agree there is nothing wrong with the new heroic or raid bosses but the difficulty increase from going to 85 regular dungeons to 85 heroics is a huge jump, like going from lvl2 to lvl85 in tetris, its like oh this is easy after a while then all of a sudden your like :eek::eek: wtf just happend. there needs to be a middle difficulty not from easy to hard with no normal mode. Plus with the pug buff in 4.0.6 it will be even easier for normals making the run in heroic non-pugs that much harder for those that dont know the fight or how to properly cc. this is also where most of the tanks and healers quit thinking that they are the problem or $h!ty dps blaming them for dying(the kind that stand in fire and break cc's).

what i have read is that you can turn off your experience by talking to a guy by the oggrimar or stormwind battlemasters but you have to pay 10g to turn it off and 10g to turn it back on. also the lvl caps for bg's now is 19 29 39 etc...

Cap always was x0-x9, with the exception of Alterac Valley beign x1-x0

As for difficulty, my money is that nothing compares to vanilla Kel Thuzad, before the patch that dumbed him down and cut out his damage so that everyone can kill him.
