i have been playing kotor2 for ages and finished it with each character, all with out cheats. now i have looked online for cheats and added the line to the file, however nomatter what i press i cant imput any codes. i have tried the ` key, ` and space/shift, nothing. any ideas???
What type of keyboard do you have? Azerty or Qwerty? What type of keyboard does KotOR think you have? I have an Azerty, but, IIRC, KotOR reacts as though I have a Qwerty. Again IIRC, ALT GR + ¨^[ opens the console for me, or Shift + % ù ´, not sure. Those are the keys right of the P and M, respectivly. You don't really "see" a console, but it is there. Press a random letter-key and see if it appears in the top-lefthand corner.
Are you sure you added the "EnableCheats=1" line in the correct file, under the correct header? Was the file write-protected? Also, try the ³ ² keys, those are the topleft most on my keyboard, combined with Shift, ALT GR or CTRL.
That's because the cheat menu never actually appears on the screen. You may have already activated the cheat menu, but that you didn't know. Try pressing the ` button while playing. Now type "turbo" then press Enter. You cannot see anything but you did use a cheat. Your character should be moving very very fast if it worked.
Are you sure you edited the right file? If you did edit the right file then: Do you have 2 of those files? You need to have only 1 modified file for this to work.
Keep trying all the "weird" keys, with the accents and punctuation marks on and such. I always forget which key it is, too. Try using the different functions key with it, like Shift, Ctrl, Alt Gr...
I added EnableCheats=1 in the swkotor2 file under game options like the first one but it doesn't seem to work. I'm aware that the console is invisible, but when I type all the hotkeys are still activated, and I can even move my character around. Any thoughts?? I even tried clicking in the corner too see if it was clickable, but it is not. I've tried it several times and I'm really stumped. Thank you for any help you may be able to give. -Nathan
ok I guess my question would be, when you're typing in the console, does it deactivate game controls?? Like for example, when I type "i" in the console, is it normal for the inventory to pop up while I'm typing??
OK, now that I know I'm not crazy, the file you're suppose to edit to enable console, is it swkotor2 or swplayer?? I just realized this other file, but I'm pretty sure I'm suppose to edit swkotor2, which I did but doesn't seem to work. I also have all the updates, if that helps at all.

Solution!! If anyone else is having this problem I have it figured out. Under game options on the text file, paste EnableCheats=1 under Disable Movies=0 and it should work, that's what worked for me anyway.
The cheat console... Im going to learn to mod Kotors, and i made a colorful robe so that i would know what part of the texture goes where, and well it will also help in the testing of mods, so how in the hell can i open it??? i have the EnableCheats=1 written in the config, and i have tried every single of these buttons without anything happening:'*¨^`´.
