My 11/10/1 rogue/fighter/shadowdancer could not scratch The Maker, a demi-lich. Her +10 composite longbow got nothing but "weapon ineffective messages," even with magic arrows and +5 arrows. She has a high Use Magic Device skill; so she tried using a scroll for Black Blade of Disaster, a spell that a walkthrough at gamefaqs suggests might work. It did not. As a graduate of Shadows of Undrentide, she has a pair of Boots of Shifting Sands. They cast Earthquake once a day. That's not much, but after thirty-five rests and thirty-six uses, they did the job. The demi-lich could not heal.
