At the start of Chapter the guards have taken most of your inventory. Do you ever get it back? I particularly miss the three meteor fragmants. Can I get them back?

Yes. Spoilers, please highlight: Just ask the guard after you finish the mission to get rid of a monster in the sewers. He'll tell you where your belongings are.
