Also go buy a black horse cause different horses grun faster.
the one you are given near the begining of the main quest is slow. the slowest in the game the horses can be alot faster then on foot if you get the right breed. and to fast travel its really easy go to you world map and click on any location marker that you have already been to or on any town location marker i.e. skingrad west gate it does help for getting around but also recomend exploring every so often you would be amazed at what you will find.
