Bear in mind, most of the people who will respond in this forum enjoy the game. You might get a more balanced response in the RPG Discussion forum. Just let me know if you want to move this thread there, or keep it here.

I do not mind replying "negative" towards a game regardless of forum
I do not feel it was worth the money. The AI, game mechanics, level scaling, no consequent character builds, no consequence choices, to much focus on graphics and not gameplay, and various other things simply ruined the game for me.
Perhaps there are enough mods to correct these issues, however I dislike it when a game needs to be created by the modding community instead of the developers, so on that aspect alone I'd not pay full price for Oooohblivion (amply named, because I think Bethesda has been seriously oblivious) and wait for it to hit the bargain bin.

I seriously regret having bought it and it did not even provide me with a weeks enjoyment, and will likely not venture back into the sandbox until a year or so down the road when I'm really really bored and there are no dishes to wash or rooms to clean.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I have to say that I do like challenging games, but when all the challenges a game is capable to offer are based on bugs, especially bugs that will not have official patch to fix them and waiting for one will be time wasted – I will have trouble recommending such a game to anyone.

And since you cannot use console commands with 360, certain bugs might prevent you from finishing some quests.

But if you are certain you want to play Oblivion, wait for something like the TES: III GOTY. It’ll cost less.

....

Gash, already answered...

With X360 I guess you could look forward to “Mass Effect”.
A Tour of Bioware's Xbox 360 RPG "Mass Effect"
But I am highly sceptical towards that game too.

No, no clone threads allowed. It stays here, or it moves, but I can leave a marker here so that people that read the title in this forum are forwarded, at least for a few days. Will that work for you?

As for the game, I already wrote my opinion in my review. It's a kiddie game, wrapped up in high end graphics. Poorly balanced gameplay, and nowhere near as much fun as Morrowind, IMO.

Obviously, there's no right or wrong answer to this question, but I vote an enthusiastic "yes". I'm a notorious Microsoft basher, refused to buy a 360, my son saved enough money to buy one but I wouldn't touch it. Then he got Oblivion and I was instantly hooked. It takes a heckuva game for me to let Bill Gates get the last laugh

Of course, now I have it on PC and it's burned hundreds and hundreds of hours. More replay value than any game I've played since DoomII or the Civilization series.

Having played Morrowind on both Xbox and PC, and Oblivion on Xbox...
I was let down, Graphics are very good but gameplay and story are just not there I personally recommend Morrowind for PC and if you want a game for Xbox Morrowind is better IMO. Along those lines I do have to say I really enjoyed Fable for Xbox, it was the first title that hooked me on the Xbox. But I prefer PC if possible.

yes i would get it.
morrowind was disapointing to me in quite a lot of ways.
combat is not fun at all unless you are a high level.
oblivion hit's every time !yay!
eveyone complains about it being too easy.
but i see oblivion and morrowind as two completely different games.
i have played both and beaten oblivion and morrowind is just not fun for me.
it gets extremely annoying when you shoot arrows that go through the character.

in short terms yes get oblivion.

A lot of what I think is wrong in Oblivion is probably caused by the game having an X-box version. A PC RPG player is a different type of player than an average X-Box owner. So if you like using an X-box in stead of a PC for gaming, and if you think you are a somewhat average gamer, chances are you will like Oblivion.

i do not own them for the pc but my friend does and i find it better on the xbox.
but sadly i am not a huge gamer. i can't be because i only find a bit of free time.
but i still dislike morrowind.
the combat system is terrible

Combat system is same in both games, if you don't count the blocking.

Sure you can do all manner of tricky special attacks, but it is easier to just whack your enemies and not fizzle with the "W,A,S,D".

It was the first game I bought on the 360 and I still love it. I have spent more time on this game than any other and will continue to spend time on it.
Yes its glitchy here and there but nothing drastic
