ok so I checked out the poster, bribed the bum to tell me about the grey fox and then i go and wait behind that shack for the guy to come at midnight. then when he shows up i ask him about it and then ask to join the guild and he says that he doesn't trust me and that he doesn't know what i'm talking about. i also then tried stealing something and going to jail for it, waited 48 hours and then wandered through the whole city and was never aproached by some girl with a "mysterious note". what the hell am i doing wrong here?

First off, you're not paying any attention to that sticky thread labeled, hopefully, HEY YOU, to try and get your attention. The one that says:

Please add "SPOILER" to the name of any new threads that contain information that might spoil someone else's gaming experience. Also, put any spoiler information in BLACK text so that it cannot be seen without highlighting is a good way to make sure someone isn't spoiled unless they want to be.

Repeated posting of information giveaways without SPOILER warnings will lead to the temporary suspension of posting privileges.
