Saving more than one charitor

I have the PC version and the only places it will let me save in is quick save and auto save. I can start a new player with out saving over the old one. Is this how it is should be?

Well if you have issues with Saves try this, I use to name my saved games:

- hit ~ without the SHIFT
- type save "name of save"
- hit ~ again.

Maybe that'll work. Anyway, I solve issues of files that way. It needs be done only once, so when you overwrite it will keep the name of the saved game. Should fix the multiple char saves questions too.

I had to learn about the shared quicksave the hard way ... Bye bye level 41. And he was the head of the fighters guild and finished the main quest ...

Now I'm a level 9 Assasin for the Dark Brotherhood. I'm not to angry though, this new character rocks! But he's harder to level.

still not working

when ever I click new save it will save in the up left corner, Save complete. But there is never any new saved file. I tryed to name them using the `~ button, with out sucsess. I think maybe I should re install.
I have also been cheating so that may be kurpeting the save files?

Wait, wait we may have it, don't reinstall!

open the console (~) and type:

player.setactorfullname PLAYERNAME

where Player Name = the name of the character. And exit the console. And that should do it. You must have pressed TAB when you were creating your character.

So you can't save your games and are on the 360? Quicksave and autosave work or not?

The odd thing is, that the reason for this is that the PC player presses TAB when creating a character which results in the above problem. Now this on the 360 .. I am assuming there is no TAB in the first place. I'll take a look around, but please tell me about the problem as much as you can.

Well, here is the thing, on the 360 you get achievment points as you raise in guild rank. I do not wish to go through all the guilds (to get all available achievment points) with one character, I have plans for a second character.

The problem is, short of creating a new profile on my 360, there is no way of separating multiple character game saves (that I know of). When the game is saved it will display either "Autosave" or "Game Save ##". I suppose I could be really cautious and keep "Game Save 62" on my HD, but I like to delete older game saves to manage HD space, and I don't want to accidentally delete this particular save file.

Creating a new profile would cause my main profile to not get the achievment points.

I guess my real question is, does anyone know of a way to rename the saved file on the Xbox 360? I may have misinterpreted the original poster's topic. Sorry if this is moving off topic course.

Thanks in advance.

Whats the problem? Can you pull up the console? Can't you see the save game you created? An example of the command would be:

Code:
save Uffda
A save game will be generated called Uffda

The great thing about the console save is that it creates one save file, which will be ovewritten if you save over it again - like a more traditional save management system.
