Please Help (Possible Spoilers)

After closing the first oblivion gate and proceeding on until i had a chance to join the blade i decided to take my own path and do the Dark Brotherhood quest line, now that i am finished with that i want to join the Blades, but Jeoffery will not allow me to all he says is There are some things only friends should discuss (something along those lines) i can not pursuade him or anything, how do i get into the blades?

ummm.... tough one really!! have you tryed cleansing your soul at the altar of the nine?? maybe you have a bounty on your head?? try these first and get back to me!!


also if you have a look at my posts just below yours there is a question about the blades which hopefully you can tell me about!! please

As I posted in supercharlieb the Blades can be joined in a sense but have no benefit like the Fighters Guild etc. I dont know why you cant accept his offer but you are not missing much

I think your fame needs to be much higher than infamy. If you did the DB then you are a ruthless killer who no one would like to associate with. You may need to become more famous first by doing good deeds.
If you have higher fame and tried to raise his disposition, using speechcraft, bribery, personality enchantments or charm spells to get him to like you more and he still did not budge, then maybe its too late. But SuperV is right, Blades membership is a line on your resume and nothing more. I think you might get a shield which is less useful than one you might find in a cave. You may also have greater access to Cloud Ruler Temple, but there is nothing worth taking there either.

what i did was i am now a listener for the dark brotherhood(i think thats the highest role as far as i know) any way when i wanted to join the blades it worked for me but after words i wanted to join the mages guild so i talked to the council guy and he said i will not associate with a common murderer so then i realized i in fact did have a bounty on my head so you just might want to double check

I checked this out and this is what they said.

1st You have to have a higher fame than infamy
2nd You cannot have a bounty

He should then let you join (Though...nothing good comes of joining the blades) you dont need to join to continue with the main quest.

C'mon guys must be better friends is what they always say when you need to bribe or speechcraft them and get a higher approval rating. Irregardles of his fame - infamy whatever he has to sweet talk the old guy some more first.

Hey!

Try visiting all the wayshrines. That SHOULD give you the gods' forgiveness (allowing you to receive blessings from wayshrines) and it should erase your infamy. Worked for me. Do you have the Knights of the Nine expansion? If you don't it may be difficult to find all the shrines. If you do, use the map given you by the Prohpet to find them easier.

Alright like all these people said joining the Blades is almost pointless but it does give you access to things you can sell and Blades weapons and armor. The only reason it didn't work is if you have a bounty on your head. Think about it, both the Fighters and Mages guild won't let you join if you have a bounty. And visiting all the wayshrines won't help. That's only for Knights of the NIne, believe me I would know because I tried.
