permanant grey fox??

Ok so I am playing on the 360 version and I was wearing the cowl because I wanted to hold more items. Now when i take off the cowl and enter a town, all the guards want to kill me. Any fixes?? I already beat the game.

Just like a comic book superhero, you're basically two different people when you have the cowl on and when you have it off. Your bounty, fame and infamy accumulate separately. Your unmasked identity must have a high bounty, since the guards still come after you when you take off the cowl. The good news is, if you pay the fine or do the time just this once, you should be ok forever as long as you do all you future crimes with the cowl on. The Grey Fox's bounty and infamy will continue to accumulate to ridiculous levels, but your unmasked identity will stay squeaky clean. As soon as you take the mask off you can chat with the guards and get healed in the chapels. Cool thing about the enchantment of the mask making them forget you is that you can basically remove the mask right in front of them and they instantly become friendly again (you might have to yield to them if they've already initiated combat).

No not what i meant. I meant, that even after my fame was over 140+ and my infamy was like 40. After I wore the cowl for a bit, when i took it off my fame is now 1 and infamy is 100. Everytime i enter a town i get attacked.

have you tried yielding the guards? guards allways accept yields, and if youve got a fine, pay it
also another nice tip:you can wear the cowl and remove you bounty with skrivva(it doesnt work with armand for some reason) and the guards treat you as friendly, however you cant talk to them if you wear the cowl or they will be hostile again(you can yield them again though). however, keep that cowl on if you have 0 bounty, because if you take it back off and put it on your bounty will be 500 again and guards will chase you againif those mean guard guys dont accept your yield, then your out of luck

I think I know what you're saying. If you take off the cowl while any guards are
around, they will still treat you like the Grey Fox. Run away from them til' you're at a safe distance (being able to fast-travel or wait), and then take it off. That should make your bounty and infamy go back to normal.
