main quest and Anvil ghost house. (spoiler)

got a little prob with the main quest:
im at the part to open a portal to the paradise.. so i got Martinus (that emperor guy) all things he wanted.. until he asked me to enter the Great Oblivion Gate.. we should just let the mythic dawn open that portal.. ok fine with me.. but the portal wont open.. do i just have to w8 longer? cause my quest log doest point a marker.

as for the anvil ghost house:
i bought that house and walked to the basment.. there i saw a sealed portal (and got a MAJOR lag). ok.. so what? i walked trough the whole house.. from top till basment (again) and found nothing..
i had a lvl up thingy so i went to sleep.. and 4 ghost woke me.. i killed the 4 ghost, my quest log said i had to see the basement, so i did.. i went to the portal.. but nothing new in my quest log..
so what must i do?

Ehmm, about the portal. It might be a bug. Martin will ask if you are ready, as you won't be able to return right away. And if you say yes, he will stand in front of the diagram and open the portal. It took 10 seconds for me for him to open the portal.

About the Avil house. I don't actually think the quest log mention anything about the basement. What it sais is actually that you heard a crash downstairs, as far as I remember.
So...spoiler to get you one step forward. its written in black.
Downstairs in the first room you enter when you enter the house, you will see a Vase that has fallen down on the floor it seems. Check that out. That should lead you further in that quest.

Somwhere in the house, entrance or near there, is spot highlighted with green light - it has a hand and diary/paper, which you'll both need. pick them up, read, you'll get a prompt to go look for who ever sold you the house. Keep the hand.

i mean the portal to Onlivion to get a great sigil dtone.. not the portal to Paradise, or i misunderstand you wrong.

Ahh, I misunderstood you :-)

Well, He sais that 2 or 3 portals has to be opened first (can't remember if it is 2 or 3). Normal portals, and where you need to defend Martin from the daedra comming out. And you will have some time fighting, and then suddenly your quest log should update saying that the great gate has opened, and it should pretty visible as it is pretty big compared to the other portals.

But, there will go some time from the first portal opens to the great portal opens. And in that time you just need to fight and protect Martin.

Eh, well, to get the quest you talk to Martin and he decide that the only way to get the Great sigil stone is to get the Mythic Dawn to open the big gate, so you both, plus the "army" you have collected to help Bruma, go out just outside Bruma.
There the first gate appear, and monsters will crawl through. Then in about 3-4 minuttes another gate will open and perhaps a 3rd gate, I can't remember. But in the end the big gate will open.
And they all open right next to each other, so you can't miss them.

so all i have to do is talk to martin again? cause the last 3 times i had no options when i talked to him, onley the buttun with the X to close the conversasion (spl?)

Well, are you sure you are at that point in the main quest?
You have to do several other things first.
Check your quest log. If you have any quests from either Martin or Jauffre(sp), then you have to do them first.

ok, it went like this: i got the grand weyhlker stone and returend.. martin said something.. i actedently sciped it.. i had no quest log update. i went to this forum.. i went to do some ather quest.. and i just went back to martin.. but he didnt tell me anything.. neither did Jaffre (<--the monk guy) i went trough all of Cloudruler temper.. but no1 had a quest update.. curently i dont have a main quest :S the last thing i heard from martin was that we needed a great sigil stone..
the mythic dawn is suppose to open a Great Oblivion Gate from where i can get a grand sigil stone.. but i dont see a portal and i dont have a marker on my map cause i dont have the quets..

thats all of my problems for now.. thx for the help again

ok...I just checked through my completed quests.
You should have gotten a quest update when talking to Martin. Something about that he has now Deciphered the 4th object needed...a great sigil stone.

If you haven't gotten that update, try go to the Castle of Bruma and talk to the Countess. Because she needs to authorize that we let the gates open outside the city.
And you should tell her to meet Martin in the Chapel.
If you can do that, then you should be on the right path. Don't know why you haven't gotten an update though.

I also assume that you have been to Sancre Tor and gotten the blood of Tiber Septim right? Thats a Jauffre quest.

yes, i got him the tiber septime blood..
and i talked to the countess, she wanted me to get something for her.. an acaviri artifact.. thats not the main quest is it?

No, its the normal Count quests.

But, it might be that you have to do that one for her before she agrees to help you.
I had already done it when I came that far in the main quest, so I don't know if it is required.

What does Martin say when you talk to him now?
