There is a way to kill targets with melee as long as they are thin (will explain) and you have enough speed. All you do is wait for them to hit or make them by lowering your shield for a second then block the blow. When they recoil (you dont need knockback with the shield, normal recoil will work) you have a second to run around them a bit. It takes a bit of practice but what you want to do is get about 90-180 degrees right or left of their front (not right behind because you don't know which way they will turn) , and when they start turning face them and pull right or left away from their front. If you have enough speed you can rotate without them ever facing you and smack them (they can't block you because a shield only works in the game when you are facing your opponent).

This works best in open, lighted areas so you can time your spinning, and against humanoid targets. This is mostly for if you are unprepared for the fight, and dont wanna leave or just want to be invincible 1 on 1 (before reflect). Yes, it is cheap, but so is using a column.

When I faced her at around lvl 10, the way I finally beat her was to use a sword that had "disintegrate weapon" as a modifier. A few smacks with that, and she was fighting with her fists. I made pretty easy work of her after that.

Instant Umbra

You can have the sword day one if you like. Make sure you have some healing potions or some stronger healing spells and sorcery potions. The Welkyd stones from her dungeon work well too. Go piss her off and run. An arrow from the balcony is safest. Run all the way back to the Imperial City and through the gates. You may have to keep going to the center of town where the royal guards are tougher. You have to be careful not to out run her at first. If the music goes mellow you will have to turn around and re-irk her. Once she's on your but outside she won't give up and she'll be nipping at your heels the whole way. Worse than nipping actually.

Once you are in the city and a guard sees her strike you they jump her and gain her attention. Then you can stand back and watch the melee. It is pretty hilarious. I think I did it around level seven and it went off smooth as silk, first try. My wife asked me to do it for her though at level three and we ran in to all kinds of hitches. I think they were bad luck and not level related though. Just be sure to save along the way when things are going well so you don't have to completely start over. You can just keep picking up where you left off until you make it.

As an added bonus you get to loot all the guards bodies she will kill. Nice shot in the arm money wise in the early going. Took me several trips to gather it all up. She killed six guards in my attempt, four during my wife's.

Anyone reading this who it helps or amuses please check out my post regarding second tier athletics training and let me know if you can help.

Hope this helps and thanks for any help I get in advance.

Thumbs up Umbra ftw

I didnt have that much of a problem with her, I bash in with mace and shield and frequently cast paralyze spells on her and then hit her with my daedric mace until she rises, then I do the same thing again. Paralyze spells costs a lot of mana though so you better be prepared for that.

Another tactic I took her down with was when I was some sort of fighting rogue I sneak up on her, deliver a thrust with the dagger, quickly change to a bigger weapon with shield and just block her out. Her sword is powerful, indeed, but if your fast enough with your weapon you might just be the better ^^

i find it rather weird anyone finds her anywhere near a challange , i'd say either sneak up on her and shoot her with a bow , or just use a nice homemade poisen , i'd say a poisen with 3 dmg debuffs would do the work perfectly. ofc that'd require some skill in alchemy , but thats not much diffrent then lvling just any other skill in the game.
