Help with the chapel

When i try to restore my attributes, at any chapel, ive tried a bunch of them, it says to repent your sins or whatever. How do i "repent my sins" I didnt have any bounty, but then just to be sure i intentionally got caught stealing went to the guards and paid my fines, and i still get the same message. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Have you been a good character player? Have you slayed an innocent? Even by 'accident'? Are you a DB member? How about a vampire? What level? What are you doing or just do? More info would help.

Im not a vampire, Ihave killed an innocent in the female gang quest (for some reason the last girl was "innocent") because i got the message from the dark brotherhood. I havent joined the dark brotherhood however. Generally i have been a good character throughout. Also i have tried getting rid of all my stolen items in my inventory too and that didnt work. I am level 30 something now, middle 30's i think. Hope that helps you help me lol! Thanx

either you have a bounty on your head or your infamy is higher than your fame. if its a bounty you just need to pay it off or do the time then you can use the shrine thingy again, if its infamy then you need to get your fame up (eg clear oblivion gates, do missions for the fighters/mages guild, do the main quest...DONT do DB or TG quests..)

That being said, press F1 (if using PC) and look at the last tab. Check out your 'Fame' & 'Infamy' scores. Chances are your Infamy is higher. Go do good. Get a blessing.
