HELP ME! Dark Brotherhood Problem/ Glitch

ok, so i joined the dark brotherhood, and i was doing the watery grave contract, and i killed the pirates, and i went back to the abandoned house, and when i go to enter the black door into the sanctuary, i cannot open the door, i get no message about the color of the night, as the first time you go in, i click the door and it makes a kind of clunk noise. and i do not have the key or w/e to enter the well into the sanctuary. i dont know what i did or if this is a glitch, or w/e someone explain please.

Check your quest log to make sure you completed everything (spoiler: the first mate is on shore and there are other pirates in the ship, but the captain who is the real target is in his cabin in the stern so if you missed him you're not finished). If the quest log says the mission is done and you should return to the sanctuary to get your reward, then your only options are to reload a saved game (on the 360) or use a console code on the PC.

i have completed the quest, the log says 'i should return to the sancturay for my reward' but the door will not open to let me do it. and im on the PC version.

Bring up the console (hit the ~ key), click on the door with the mouse (you should get a message with the object ID of the door near the middle of the top of the screen when you have it selected) and then type:

unlock

That should open it.

tried that, it says 'ancient door unlocked' but it does not allow me to enter it.

Im having the same problem. Ive done all the DB missions before but now im doing them again. But this time when i get to the summitmist manor mission where you need to kill all the house geusts. I cant get inside the house.. The door just says wooden door instead of door to summitmist manor or something. What now?

Are you sure you are trying to access the right house? If i recall correctly, there should be a doorman who gives you a key to the house the moment you approach him.

I'm having the same problem. I have the key but when I try to open the door, nothing happens. Talked to the doorman - he just says "what are you waiting for...". I've gone back to sanctuary to talk to everyone, I've done the ~unlock bit, even tried to turn off clipping and walk through the door (that just makes the house disappear except for the framework). Any other ideas???
