Can i run oblivion?

ok, so my dad got this pc. it has a sis 661fx video card in it i guess. can that run oblivion and if not, what games can i run. I know it sounds dumb because its a crap video card but and suggestions would be helpful.

I doubt that could run diablo 2 let alone Oblivion or morrowind.

That is an old card and windows XP VGA cards are more advanced. You CAN run it on an Nvidia GeForce 5500 but you'll need Oldblivion. I will say though that the Nvidia FX 5500 you could find on ebay for probably no more than 20 bucks.

It lets you run Oblivion on pre DirectX 9.0 cards. Don't settle just for that though. Like Siberys says, you'll still need a more powerful graphics card. The GeForce 5500 will do that, but don't expect you'll be able to get all the pretty graphics you see in the screenshots.

If you can look past the advertising a bit you'll find there are plenty of older and better games out there than Oblivion. Games that are all much more suitable to those system specs. You don't have to consider it much of a loss if you can't play Oblivion.
