Anyone know how to use file planet?

Hi I tried to use one of the mods listed in the sticky (above). I got to fileplanet and registered but I couldn't figure out what to click on to get the download started. It said something about paying a monthly fee, but I didn't think that was right because in the mod description it also said the mod was free.

I want to download the patch 1.2 and fransesco's mod.

Let me see, I'm visual...but

once you've selected the file..click the lick under it.."Download this file now"
the next screen you get usually has a couple of download links at the top..these are the pay ones scroll on down. the 2 links at the bottom have to buttons on the bottom one says why wait...that's another pay one the other that says download is the one, next is a pop-up...might have some wait time but usually not...the usual windows download..etc..where?...
I have a download manager from fileplanet and after I say download it pops up and I take it from there...
Hope I got all this right from memory..

Thanks blue sky! Sounds like they want to say they have free stuff but at the same time then get you to pay for a membership haha. I'll give it a try.

Edit actually its not working. I go to the file and all I get is a membership screen.

At a a loss..I just tried it myself and it worked..
hit link to file planet..logged in and it took me to the last screen... the sites at the bottom underneath the banner screaming..why wait get it now...the ones that say servicing 55/241 hit the top button the one ..download now,sitting on the one that says,,,skip the lines...and it worked ...

hmmm, don't know...

What through me off was the very first link there is a screen that says 'some files you need to be a member' and a HUGE add for joining the member list with fees.

I thought this meant my file was pay only and was confused because the GB thread said it was free.

The trick is that the page with the HUGE add has a small button at the top where you register. You only need be registered and not a member. It was confusing because I was already logged in I just needed to go through this second layer of hurdles.

Anyhow I appreciate your help.
