Question A Quest for Єџíł...

Єџíł...

Playing a goodie-two-shoes hero, an honorable knight, or an outright good-guy can become so boring. Myself, I absolutely detest playing an RPG where you MUST be good...

Running arround saving princesses from Dragons, hunting down evil Wizards, and defending the innocent from Єџíł quite frankly seems rather unimaginative and outright lame.

This is why I was thrilled to learn that in Oblivion, not only can I become a "Dark Elf" (who arn't all that evil apparently) a murderer, and Assassin in the Dark Brotherhood, but I can also be offered the Eternal Gift of Vampirism... I was sold.

I immidiately set to work becoming the most vile and Єџíł character I could. I promptly created a "Dark Elf" and set out. As far as I am consirned the Emperior be damned, if I have my way (not likely) This will be my Empire soon enough to lord over as a Tyrant!

As soon as I heard the rumor of the Dark Brotherhood I murdered someone to gain there attension. At my first oppertunity I excitedly accepted the Gift of Vampirism.

Now, haveing assassinated half of the black hand, including my vampiric sire, I sit as "Listener" and leader of The Dark Brotherhood and The Black hand answering only to the Dark Mother...

Like any other Єџíł based character, I now search for dark power. However, I am a little... disapointed.

Joining the thieves guild brought little Єџíł... but it's good to have a place to sell all the things I have stolen. (No killing? what's with that?) The fighters Guild seems like a bunch of goodie-two-shoes, who lack finesse... But to top it all off, my most demoralizing descovery, the Mages Guild is attempting to distroy all Necromancers! (And after I got that nice little robe from that lich...) BOOO!

The Daedric Quest look like my last resort for Єџíł...

So here is my question...

Is it possible, to learn ANY dark magic or Necromancy, or have I reached my Єџíł peek already?

Can anyone give me information on my quest to become an abomination of Єџíł...

I've played Oblivion with the full spectrum of "alignments", and I have to say you have the most options with a pragmatic (neutral) character as opposed to a character at either of the extreme ends of the good/evil axis. The DB quests are about it for a truly evil character. FG doesn't really care how many people you kill as long as you complete your contracts, so there's some opportunity there for some mayhem. The daedric quests run the gamut from downright noble to missions that would turn a paladin's stomach, so there are a few you'll enjoy there. MG are very goody-two-shoes, as you put it, and the short version is no, there's no way to become a necromancer or use dark magic in the stock game. A couple of the plug-ins from Bethesda also have some treats for evil characters (Mehrune's Razor and The Vile Lair in particular), plus the Shivering Isles expansion pack is much better than the original game in terms of letting you do things your own way whether you are good or evil.

If you're playing on PC, however, there are a large number of mods geared toward evil characters that allow necromancy, add new evil factions and missions, and otherwise let you wreak havok on Cryodiil (I think I've even seen one that lets you help the Mythic Dawn instead of Martin and completely changes the main quest, but I've never played it). See the "mod defs and links" sticky thread for links to other sites that host 3rd-party mods.

Even if the mages guild is completely goody goody there is one thing spoiler when you finish the last quest and destroy the head necromancer you can take his staff and that re animates dead characters (temporarily)

also thought i should just recommend the knights of the old republic series if you like being able to be evil

There is a tiny bit of necromancy. When carring black soul gems, you can trap the souls of people. But those souls unfortunately are no better than a grand soul.

If you want an evil endgame then try Servant of the Dawn by Endrek Sar, you can find it here: Endrek Sar's Oblivion Gate

Ajtn,

Thanx dude, that spoiler rocks. Now I actually have a good reason to persue the Mages Guild. My only intension for becomming involved with the Mages Guild was so I could begin enchanting some items and creating spells... But now that I know I can get that Staff... well I am sure I could fane goodness to meet the evil goal of gaining that staff.

Question: In the Thieves guild quest, to gain the Arrow of Extrication... is there any way to get into the Wizards Tower OTHER then going threw the water?

This is quite frustrating,... Being a vampire, one would expect that you do not require to breath... however, this is not the case... I had only one scroll of water breahing,... used it and still have not enough time to make it threw the watery tunnel, (second portion)...

Frustrated, I went to nearly every town in an attempt to get training in alteration to boost me to a level high enough to actually cast my new water breathing spell. Yet no avail...

I do not want to join the mages guild at this time, as if I do, I will only be booted out after I kill the wizard or steal his arrow...

So I am looking for another way in... Is it possible to pick pocket the Wizards key? Or is there a chance I can catch the dude on the road or on route to his tower? BTW where is the dang tower? lol...

Stiupidly swimming around in the lake,
Valas
