Worth It?

A simple question really, is Morrowind worth buying? Reasons for and not if you could please...

Thanks very much.

Reasons for buying Morrowind:

- Large non linear world.
- hundreds of things to do and explore.
- Literally thousands of types of custom characters can be made.
- A good story for the main quest.
- hundreds of side quests.

Reason for not buying Morrowind:

Same as above...

What I mean is - this game is everything it is advertised to be - and with the construction set it stands to improve and expand from user mods.

On the other hand, if you are looking for baldurs gate 3 - wait for neverwinter nights.

I am definitely getting Nevewinter Nights (look at the Blades of the Banshee's, I can't say anymore about it! ) and I considered Morrowind because it looked like quite good for roleplaying. I think I will wait a little, save some money (till I get a new machine, I doubt this would run on my current rig) and get it after I get my new machine this summer.

Sounds like go reasoning to me. The game does require some pretty high system standards - I run it very smoothly on my Athlon XP 1700 with a Geforce 2 card - my brother has to tone the graphics down a bit on his celeron 633.

Blades rule - and I cannot wait to crack open neverwinter nights - I am planning on taking a weeks vacation right after its release

I play it on AMD Duron 600, 320Mb RAM and gf2MX gfx card..it runs ok-ish in 800x600 with view distance and shadows on half setting. Has these annoying stops now and then though which I don't know what is..precaching? just at random? can stop for 4-5 secs when i'm just walking towards someone's house. Not huge FPS of course, but very playable..More so inside buildings and dungeons of course.

Yep, but I'm running a PII 350. Try that for size! I do have 128MB of RAM though, that helps a lot for games.

*Blades Salute!* A week? Thank God it's released during my summer break... hehehe

Like I said above, my rig wouldn't allow that to play at all so I've got to wait a bit, but I can hold, as long as I see NwN on the horizon... *sighs dreamily*

When I think of it, watching a friend play Daggerfall alot on his P-100 computer convinced me to buy a PC..Was in '96 I think, just when the old trusty Amiga was starting to fade away into darkness...*sigh*..'twas a sad day when I put it in the closet.
But I could play Daggerfall at least So now the circle is closed. It has come full. I am now complete. I can now ascend to a higher plane of existance. As a developer for Bioware.

Yeah, that's why our games are always so damn late. We spend
most of the time prancing around forums on the "electric internet".

Seriously. Do I look like one to you? They are on a higher plane than us mortals. Thus we can ascend to their plane once we're whole and complete human beings. Which I am ready for now.
