| | | Unless you are a magic user, in which case Bretons or Altmers are the way to go, I don't think it makes any difference which race you choose.
At least as far as being good at things goes anyway. I mean, a tiny little Bosmer can, eventually, be just as skilled with an axe as a big, hulking Nord. Race and 'class' only really effect things at the beginning.
IMO, race choice is more based on personal preference, aesthetics and role playing than anything else.

| | | Reguard considering to me they're the best when making a Fighter, I was Fighter Guild Master by level 8, they excel in combat I did however try a Nord/Orc first but they didn't compare to a Reguard; I have a Kajitt for a Assassin don't play him though, and a Dark Elf for a Battle-Mage.

| | | To me, it depends on how I'm playing the game. If I'm going stealth, Khajit. If magic, altmer, and if combat, redguard. Howeverm since the only time I -ever- went full combat oriented was the first time I played the game, redguard's not that high on my list.
Aesthetically, khajit's look cooler in my opinion. So I guess I'm going with them.
(I've never played a Dunmer, which I'll probably get beaten for.)

| | | I voted Breton as that's the race I'm probably closest too in terms of physical build/appearance and cultural interests. |

| | | I play a Nord, because I play fighter characters in my RPGs. I like wizards and thieves, but prefer to use them as companion characters. Also, I pick Nords because I am somewhat Nordic myself, being a lighter haired Scot Irish type, who is sometimes into physical training. |

| | | I went with the Argonian for my character because he is a lizard man. You can't beat that. And I have no complaints, nor do I wish I would have picked anyone else. If I were to pick another character though, I might go with the Nord, although the manual has a picture of a woman with the Nord bio. Can there be a male Nord? just wondering |

| | | I usually play Nord. It just fits my style, and I like the frost immunity.
And yes Tool, you can play as either a male or female of any race in the game.

And they look cool.

| | | I like imperials, mainly because they have the voice of the emperor power, but also because they are really good with heavy armor and long bades.

| | | I like breton with the apprentice birth sign. It cancels your resistance but you get a lot of magicka to start the game which is very helpful

| | | For the Empire! I play Imperial mostly because it brings to mind the authority that stems from an empire. I also like the idea of being a member of some ingenious race that is able to exert its power not through numbers, but rather the traits or inherent features of its kind. The Imperials in Morrowind are sort of the not-so-good... good guy. They're certainly not evil, but they are a presence which has arrived through some force, and I find that very appealing.

| | | i've tried as a dunmer and abandoned it and now i'm playing as an altmer and i love it - i have over 700 magicka now (after items, 500 before items) - with the atronach sign and its ideal for a sorceress. i tried a sorceress type character with a dunmer and it was useless as you run out of magicka far too quickly to make it even remotely worth it. i do everything by magic with my altmer and never use weapons, lockpicks or anything else other than potions (but even then i make them all myself with alchemy). i dunno, it just seems to be a lot more enjoyable roleplaying as a sorceress with an altmer than it was with a dunmer. |

| | Ahhh, cummon, ya don't need to be Altmer to get 700 magicka. I mean, after items (or rather, item), I have 875, and without i'm about 600. And Magick isn't even on the list of "go for its" on Argonians. Then again, what level are you at? I'm at 72, and I have about 6 mil worth of gear on my person, so that might explain things
