| | | version question I can't help but notice that this game is coming out on PC and is also being ported for xbox. Does the xbox game have a chance of being remotely good compared to the PC version. Just curious if anyone has a scoop on that.

| | | From screens I've seen, the look and feel is actually very close. Supposedly, it doesn't lack any features, either.

| | | Thanks, I check a little myself. Txbox version won't have the world editor software included. Seems possible though as the xbox does have a small hard drive.

| | I've also seen a preview of the Xbox version, at this site: http://www.gamecritics.com/preview/x...rowind_01.html

| | | thanks for the link. It appears the screen shots in the review are for the xbox. Pretty impressive. In the review they address the issue of the xbox's 64 MB limitation and the possibility of omitting some game from the xbox version. The elderscrolls website said the content would remain the same from PC to Xbox with the exception of the construction set. I'm sort of torn on which version to pick up. I'm satisfied living without the construction set; the rate at which I play new games I seldom toy with the editors. I also like the dolby supported surround sound. Yes, the xbox in the house runs through satisfactory audio equipment and it makes a tremendous difference.
It really seems like a concerted effort was made to port the game to console. The review chatted it up pretty good, torn in a decision. PC seems the safe choice, but the xbox could be good.
Are you going to be play testing and reviewing this one fable. Just curious on your opinion. Oh, how I should have listened more regarding dungeon siege. A demo would have satisfied.

| | I actually turned down the offer of a preview build, because I didn't have a review lined up. That kind of candor is disgusting, and I'm glad I was able to finally get a review planned. They sent me the preview a week ago, but the product itself is due to hit the shelves in less than a week.
I am very impressed with Morrowind. Can't claim to have played it very far, but it appears to be a very *full* game, with so much to visit, do and see that I'm sure half-a-dozen different characters won't exhaust its possibilities. I was offered a review, btw, on the construction set, and turned that down. I don't have the time.

| | | Alas, we're diverging but there don't seem to be many other participants so it's ok. Question with regard to combat. It almost seemed if the combat was action related. Do you actually have to move your character around and swing weapons to hit or is based on percentages ala BG, arcanum. thanks.

| | | It is in realtime, but there isn't any grace to it. If you have a shield, you block with it when you aren't swinging, and the more experienced you are with the block skill, the better you do it. You don't have to favor one side to block, and one side to hit. Of course, it's better to sneak up behind people, but I can't say any character I've tried out has become good enough to do that, yet. I've found in Daggerfall that speed and agility were too factors that were very important in melee, and that still seems to be the case: you want to wield a weapon with high penetration value that moves quickly. Or you want to shoot an arrow or spell from a distance. Or run away, quickly.
