| | This battle actually gets the adrenaline flowing!
Equip yourself with a CE resist paralysis item. Create a weapon with paralysis as one of the effects. Drink several fortify luck potions, and have exclusive restore health potions ready. Whack away with paralysing weapon. 5-10 minutes later, depending on your skills, loot his corpse.

| | | I've always just avoided talking to this guy after my first encounter with him. I wonder what a strength damaging dagger would do to him? I've had a lot of fun with this weapon (daedric dagger with damage strength 15 pts per hit and its almost impossible to drain as it uses so little charge each time). Get in a fight, then strike and retreat until the enemy can't move anymore. Now you can just walk away and leave him there forever if you like. Unless they have the potions or spells to restore strength they may as well be statues.

I mean, really?
Thanks for the tip about the blade - now that I'm basically finished (I don't think I'll go again).

I did this in my last game - next time, I think I'll make a weapon with a combination paralyse/damage strength effect (plan to use it against certain wolfies, too )

Thanks for the tip about the blade - now that I'm basically finished (I don't think I'll go again). | What are the enchantments on his amulet? Is is CE or Cast When Used and what does it do? I don't care about ebony armor, already have more sets than I have use for.
BTW - I strode into Dren plantation not long ago, taunted every one of the guards, slashed them a few times with my damage strength dagger and left them all there unable to move as I freed most of the slaves (had to kill the guard with the key). Its hilareous. As you walk by they utter threats and curses at you but can't carry through unless you get within their striking range. Don't try this with archers. I eventually went back and picked them off with a bow because the game won't let you rest or repair your gear with enemies about.

| | Quote: Originally posted by j0ckser Fortify Luck 15pts CE! Made mine 96 | Hmm, maybe I'm doing something wrong. I went to Mournhold and found the wood elf by the Temple. I did his favor for him (kept giving him gold until I hit 10,000 and then said no) and got the "you'll regret this" dialog but that was it. He didn't attack me. So I taunted him and easily killed him with the dagger (his reflect spell completely drained me of strength and I could still wield the dagger - I couldn't find my resist magicka potions that I thought I had with me). Some of my drain strength damage must of gotten through to him because his punches had almost no effect on me. I switched over to Skullcrusher and made a squooshed bug out of the creep. I took very little damage myself (Then again, my char is a level 75 Nord). All I found on his body were common pants and shirt. No amulet, no armor. What's the trick to get him to attack you and how do you get his loot?

| | First off - don't pay him, it isn't necessary. Second, after talking to him, go do something else for a day, then come back. He'll be there waiting with his nice new set of armor...

I'm sure he'll be waiting for me on my return. The armor will make him a bit harder to kill. The damage strength knife works well on heavily armored opponents because they haven't much leeway in losing strength points before they become encumbered. If you magically resist a reflected spell does it then damage the opponent as intended or is the spell just wasted?
