| | | Scared with the level progression... and questions, maybe with **spoilers.* Hokay.
First, I'm scared with level progression. I'm level 29 already, and as Fable told me, classes doesnt seem to matter. I can handle myself with long swords, short swords (favoured, really) and staves, not to mention magic. But it was too quick. I'm playing as an Arch Mage now, so the mage guild is over and the Hlaalu house is building a stronghold for me (still dont know where the hell it is, but hey, I've already paid) and (spoiler ahead) Caius left already, and I'm kinda lost on the main quest but I'll find my path. Now, damn, its too quick. I'm kiling beasts I've thought I'd die easily in front of them (winged twilight, ascended sleeper) without much sweat. Also, now I've enchanted permanently my couirass to recharge my "running" meter (the green one) and I guess this is cheesy. Too cheesy. You level up too quickly!!! At this gaming time I could be at level 16 struggling to continue, but hey, level 29 makes me a powerhouse. Is that the same feeling for everyone? Can I finish the game without leveling up? (like , in level 29?)
Also, is it only me or daedric/ebony items are the best for enchantments?
And also, I've got a house (dura gra bol's house) in balmora to leave my stuff. Right now I have 1 billion... oops, no but more than 16 swords on the ground, a full set of magic heavy armor (I'm using light armor right now, glass armor), a dwemer armor that is missing only the cuirass, and tons of items. Is there somewhere, except for the Creeper sales monster where I can sell that and receive, say, the 17000 bucks that an enchanted glass sword is worth? Or at least where the salesperson has that kind of coin? |

| | | You can avoid leveling up by not sleeping, and you can avoid that by carrying around enough restore magicka and health potions to deal with loss of either. Alchemy will obviously help. If you're good at alchemy, you can churn out a ton of these potions effortlessly.
And yes, daedric items are the best for enchantments.
As for merchants: the mudcrab is better than Creeper, but as I've never used either, you'll have to ask for its location.

Luis, if you are playing on PC (sorry I can't recall if you are) there are various mods out there that increase difficulty and/or slow levelling.
For starters check out the Adventurers series, I think you can get it at The Summit.
Also, if you are concerned about the game being too easy I'd advise against seeking out the Mudcrab, since additional money can make the game that much easier. If you do elect to find him though, just do a search on "mudcrab," there are a lot of threads with directions.

| | If you feel like doing some work yourself, it's not that hard really, you can alter the rate it is that you progress in skills. There is a number that states how activities you do affect your skill progression, and hence, slowing that down makes you level slower.
Just go into the editor (If your not on xbox that is ), find the skills section and check the properties. Then just lower the numbers and tinker with it until it feels right. It shouldn't be too hard. If you cut all of the numbers in half, you should level at half the speed you are now.

| Maybe not if you are already high-level, but if you set it to max right from the beginning, and with Tribunal installed, you would be reloading every time you wake up. |

| | @ Fable: i've been running around the gameworld collecting resources and leaving them at the shack I've chosen, so that every time I'm low on potions I'll go there and "level up" on potionmaking and restock my protections. But I guess I'll have to start a new game to do the dont level up technique I guess... or dont level up and try to finish the game as it is now.
As for the mudcrab, I have killed him to avoid the temptation. Of course I could summon it, but hey, I'm not cheating. Also, I only sell things to the creeper when I'm leveling up (to reach 5 bonuses on each attribute).
@DW: yeah, its on the PC. I'm Finishing the game for the first time, so no mods now but yeah, its easy
Regarding 100% difficulty, that really does not balance the game. Actually, it only spends a bit more of my mouse button, but hey, sometimes I die. Now except for the distances the game is cool. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
