renaming items

I enchanted a ring but forgot to name it. Noticed it after a few saves, don't want to go back. Is it possible to rename it or strip off the enchantment and enchant it again?

Your short answer is no. The long answer involves me explaining about save game references and stuff but brings you no closer to renaming the item.

If you're on PC have a search for Fliggerty. He may have released such a mod but I'm pretty sure that was for Oblivion by a different author.

Thanx Magelord. It's my first time through the game GOTY version and I want to do it without mods or cheats the first time.

You could always just make a new one and drop the old one in a lake or put it in your house for a spare.

Thanx, I thought of that, but I'm having a hard time finding "exquisite" items. I'm gonna do a search in the forums or elsewhere to try and find some. Morrowind:Morrowind - UESPWiki has a good setup for this.
