puzzle canal pilgrimage (possible spoiler)

does anybody know what you have to do to get in the sheild? It says something about breathing deep his majestic glory but I cant figure it out... Ive tried water breathing water walking and a ton of diff. potions but none make any sense..

Drown yourself infront of the entrance if I remember right.

You have to drown yourself. i.e. die in the water. make sure you have a silver longsword!

you don't need to bring one. theres a bunch in the chest by the daedra.
