Hmm did you unzip them to seperate folders in the data files? All plug ins need to be in the data file not a subfolder. Thats the only time I've had plugins not show up.

When you look at the data folder, while not in the game, do the plugins show up with the knife icon?

No problem I'm glad you got it figured
On a related topic, sometimes the plugins have extra meshes or textures which need to be put in the proper folders or they don't work.

The official plug-ins are zipped up with the proper path-names, so if you unzip them using the "Use Folder names" option into your data folder, they'll all go where they're supposed to.

True, but a lot of the unofficial ones don't do that

I'm not very slick when it comes to Windows. I downloaded three of four of the official plug-ins in to their own individual folders in C/morrowind/datafiles. I then used 'extract all' on each folder. None of the extracted files appeared when I when I started the game and went in under 'data files'. What am I doing wrong? What a charity case!

@ Rhavin

Alas, the plug-ins were originally downloaded into morrowind/datafiles and were also extracted there. When I try to go into 'data files' in the morrowind directory, I only see the main game and my previous saves...no plug-ins. I must be a compu-idiot!

Hmmm, you could do a file search or you could use windows explorer or just open the morrowind folders manually to look for them. Did you accidentally extract the files to a subfolder of the datafiles? (textures, mesh etc) Or you might have managed to create a second data folder.

@ T'Lainya

I can't figure it out: the extracted plug-ins are sitting there in the C:/programfiles/morrowind/datafile as plain as day along with the original compressed version of each file. Yet, when I start the game, and select 'data files' from the main menu, all I can get to come up is the master file, my quicksave and my autosave. My game just won't recognize the plug-ins for some stupid reason.

I REALLY appreciate the responses I've receives so far, and hope to receive more.

How frustrating...!

Ok, are the files in seperate folders in the datafiles? They shouldn't be. The knife icons for the .esp files should be in the data folder, not in any subfolders.

@ T'lainya

I did it! When I originally unzipped the files to the morrowind/datafile, they were in their own separate subfolder. By dragging the knife-iconed file from each individual folder to the greater data file, the game was able to recognize them...BRAVO and thanks much!
