Parmesan or Pleasure?

Okay.... I have a confession...

In actually sticking with a character and making her powerful I decided I would attempt something I've never tried before because I thought it was a waste of time and effort. Through role playing as a Telvanni, I decided to see if I could make her a "Master Enchanter," and a "Master Alchemist."

Combining the two skills... along with some help from Sri's (allows you to create "fortify enchant" potions), and the "fortify skill" spell I have succeeded. Indeed, I actually managed to make a constant effect health ring earlier...
Needless to say, I was rather stunned...

Now, is this cheesy, or is this realistic role playing? I mean, I can see how it is cheesy..being able to create powerful items like that at will can be pretty unbalancing. But, at the same time... if you are a high level mage.... it is a bit incongruous that you would need to pay an enchanter...

I don't know... Thoughts?

How dare you even entertain the idea of *us* powerful mages going to a mere "enchanter" to create our massive weapons of mass destuction.

Really it costs heaps to get CE and really powerful weapons so if you can get the same thing without the massive amounts of gold needed then great!

(besides how do you think they made their towers)

I see nothing wrong with. As long as you've trained for it you deserve it. I know Sri's takes away fortify intelligence so you can't exploit that so you're doing everything honestly. Your Character is a very important person. Why should she not be able to create powerful weapons and items. Look at Trebonius' staff. He would of enchanted that himself. I couldn't and last night I killed him so I'm more powerful. You can't take it to high either. I doubt you'll create something along the lines of the ring of equity and similar. I'd say go for it.

I second Magelord: if you trained for it, you can use it. As long as you don't exploit a glitch or a bug, no need to worry.

That's what I suspect a Telvanni wizard would do.....

Well yes... She loves spending time in the magic lab in her mushroom tower and creating enchanted items she probably has no real use for. Recently she made a staff that dishes out about three different types of elemental damage (including poison), and she doesn't even much like blunt weapons.

Or then there are the uber telekinesis potions... and she's not even a thief..

As far as exploiting or something... I'm not technically cheating... But, I am doing things that are probably in the "cheese" category... such as creating several different items and spells that fortify my Enchant and using them simultaneously along with my "Fortify Enchant" potions...
All perfectly "legal" but I'm sure there is an abuse suit in there somewhere

Remember the game is....what you make of it......
If the character you create and nurture along has the tendencies to do...well whatever....then go with it...

True...
It's just that this is quite uncharacteristic for me... I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact that right now, for various reasons, having an "avatar" in Morrowind who is powerful enough to do pretty much anything she wants has a certain "therapeutic value."

Well, I do have to admit that I get some pleasure in completing a quest with my little dark elf assassin....sneaky, stealthy, excellent marksman and 100 in short blade and has her own moral code...
hates slavers...
