New Orc.

I am thinking about starting again as i missed two large series of quests with my Dunmer (Temple and Vampire) so i'm thinking of doing an orc and thinking of a battle mage idea

Sign Apprentice
Major Axe, Heavy armour, Block, Alteration, Mystisim
Minor Restoration, Short blade, Security, Speechcraft, Armourer.
Combat with Strength and Intelligence.

So far in the game I've used some previous knowledge to quickly get some items but i'm having a bit of difficulty getting used to playing with him any tips? (perferably aligned towards being a vampire and doing pilgrimages)

I would suggest doing the Temple quests before becoming a vampire. As I understand it, somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, the Temple tends to take a dim view of Vampirism.

You should also be aware that there is a major conflict between a certain Temple quest and at least one Vampire clan.

Well thanks for that i was planning on getting tough enough to survive the attack and turning into a blood sucking creature of the nihgt (cross ref the cool quests) but doing the long hard boring pilgramages mihgt be a good way to pass the time that's needed. also why do i keep geting knoked down when beserk and sometimes dying afterwards?

The berserk ability raises some stuff but (probably for balancing reasons) drains agility. Without (enough) agility a blind scrib could knock you down because agility provides you with the ability to evade physical attacks.

You could create a Resist Magicka 100% for 2 or 3 seconds and cast it immediately before berserking.

But won't that resist the good effects?
Could you cast restore agility 20 pts for 5 seconds...?

no, resist magic only resists bad stuff. the only reason i can use the bobs

spoilers about the temple quests ahead, hilight to read
on another note, for doing the pilgrimages, i've always found it helpful to get the levitating one early on. do the other ones in vivec first, though. then go to the levitation shrine, leave a bargain levitation potion, and then after that i usually fly up to the one north of the big lake, i cant remember what it is but it takes muck. from there, go far enough north that you're closer to ghostgate than vivec, use an intervention, then go inside and activate that shrine. after that, get to gnisis somehow and there are two around there. i think that's all of the shrines...

My usual route for the 7 graces is:

Start in Gnisis Temple (Cure disease potion), fly over to Koal Cave (Dreugh Wax) Almsivi Intervention back to Gnisis, Strider to Ald-Ruhn.
Next Ghostgate (run from Ald-Ruhn, make sure to place your best gems on
th ground, it always takes the most valuable) Run down the Foyada to Fields of Kummu (muck). Divine Intervention to Pelagiad, Almsivi Intervention to Vivec.First one to do in Vivec is the Money one (top of the staircase), jump down the wzterfalls and do the puzzle canal, then finally the levitation one. Cash the quest in the High Fane and get the 'Leave Vivec' quest, fly up to the arena, Almsivi back, take the Vow of silence and fly to Sanctus Shrine. Whilst the levitation spell isstill running (and it will be) fly to Valenvaryon, perch on tof of one of the buildings and blast the orcs, then into the Propylon chamber and boost Alchemy like crazy. The over to the Urshilaku camp and then almsivi back to Gnisis, back to Vivec to cash the 'Sanctus shrine quest.
