Morrowind is crashing a lot

From what I've gathered, Morrowind will always randomly crash no matter what, even if it's a rare occurrence. However, recently it's been crashing a lot more. I'm getting a lot of messages about invalid tes files, but usually there's an instant restart of my computer. What could be causing this, and what do I do about it?

Are you running any mods? How much memory do you have? Are you running any programs in the background?

Little things like that help make answers easier.

Also, it could be that some files have got corrupted. If that's the case, reinstalling should correct that.

I'm running no mods, and no other programs in the background when I play. I've reinstalled 3 times and nothing seems changed. I've noticed that the expansion files remain after reinstalling, is that supposed to happen? Also, is the Morrowind Master Data File supposed to be .exe or .esm?

In what order did you install the expansions? Do you have anything running in the background, such as a virus checker, contact manager, etc? Is anything turned on that regularly does updates on your computer? Have you used any console commands?

Morrowind-Tribunal-Bloodmoon. Norton Protection Center is up, but it only does scans occasionally. There's also AT&T Yahoo! Online Protection up. I haven't used console commands.

If neither the Norton nor the Yahoo! includes a firewall, try removing them from memory before launching Morrowind. If they do include a firewall, be sure you turn on your native Windows firewall before removing theirs. I don't know that this will help, but some crashes are caused by virus checkers. And I'm sure other members will have their own experiences and suggestions to make.

The only thing I can think of is, get the laters drivers for your video card. And what resolution are playing with?
