magika

so whats the big dealy with magika anyway. It seems all the threads ive been in have said something about how important it is or how great magika bonuses are. Quite frankly, magika hasnt really helped me at all in the game. Do you guys use it as a weapon or something?

depends.....

personnaly i don't use magika frequently (only for mark and recall spells or soultraping and sometimes restoring attributes "if i don't have any potions left")
but hey my character is a nord warrior
i only need my axe
who can stand up to an axe skill and strength of 120 ...?
but if you're a mage than magika is what you need
nb : my character's inteligence so far is only 45
and that's all i need........
.
.
.
at least that's my opinion..

I don't think you'll ever have "enough" Magicka unless you've taken the Atronach or Apprentice birthsigns and really pump your Intelligence. I have Atronach but only average Intelligence, and I still can't cast the bigger spells like Summon Golden Saint.

I think the importance of magicka in the game is onyl really dependent on the character you'r using. Some characters will hardly need use magicka at all, whereas others will depend on it for almost everything.

the problem i have with magicka is that it seems too many people rely on it as a weapon. what happens when your all out of magicka points? at least with actual weapons, you can still swing after you run out of fatigue points. I dont know, i think using magicka as a weapon is just a wussy(yet colorful and shiny) way to take on an enemy. I dont think it takes as much skill as you only really need to beef up one attribute or two. If you ask me, give me a Daedric Longsword, an ebony sheild, bow and some arrows, and ill beat anyone anywhere.
