I normally dont play casters in games but I decided to try it out and i like it except for the mana regen. are potions the only way to regen mana?

Im sure along the way we will find magical items to restore our mana. For me anyway the only thing i have is potions and lots and lots of rest.

You can rest, consume potions, eat some herbs (minimal effect), or for some characters, absorb the spells coming at 'em to replenish magicka.

This is obviously class related too..My first character was a High Elf Spellsword..she would NEVER regain mana while sleeping..I tried to sleep for 1-2 days in a row with no effect. I messed her up and restarted with a wood elf ranger, and he gets mana very fast when he sleeps.

The getting no mana back was due to the sign you chose upon creation of character. I truly believe that sign is really for a fighter class.

Good point Tackon. I just made a caster: Breton race, Mage sign. Lots of magicka (LOTS) and 50% -negative- magic resistance to boot. I thinks its much better than the High Elves or Dork Elves, the high elves esp have nasty disadvantage.

A possibility would be a Breton of Apprentice sign. The Resistance would partly cancel out the sign's vulnerability and stacked magicka bonuses would be massive.

Yea, I have a Breton assassin under the mage sign as well. He's still an assassin if you ask me although he doesn't pickpocket and only has minor security but he kills FAST using his bound dagger and pet and can heal himself in case he gets in party fights like he's been doing lately

I'm playing this guy like when he was a kid he got caught in a fire and and received alot of scars and after that incident nobody really liked him so all of that hatred inside of him made him turn evil. He begun to study the arts of conjuring and necromancy and now he conjurs up a ghost to escort him around town and talks to it constantly cause it's his only friend.

OOC: I'm telling you he's a BAD mofo though so far

Sounds cool. I am building up the fighter side of my caster first, then when I hit level 5 or so I will turn more to magic and stealth. I want to make sure to get strength up first so I can carry lots of teh phat lewt. Slowly building up unarmored too for maximum cargo capacity.

Well, I have built up STR through jumping and armorer skill myself plus I started off this character with STR and INT so I have like 270 that I can carry now at level 2.

I'm pretty much building up fighter skills, conjurer, and destruction at the same pace.
