Like I just wrote, please, let's keep to the subject created, above: whether light, medium or heavy armor is better. If you want to start a new topic, do so. I've just gotten through removing yet-another post trying to move this topic away into something else, and I've got better things to do. Thank you.

First of all, the topic of this thread presumes everybody uses some kind of armor, and no-one would go with unarmoured as their main protection. Surely there are unarmoured fans... anyone?

Personally I have never chosen to use heavy armor. It's so... eh, heavy Considering how much loot you collect all the time while wandering at Morrowind I don't like the idea of my armor taking half of my carrying capacity. Of light and medium armor I sometimes use light, sometimes medium. The most powerful light armor, glass, looks pretty stupid to me so I normally like medium better (adamantium is nice). Last character I've played uses light and unarmoured however. I thought it would be nice to have only saviours hide and boots of blinding speed, and no other armor. But I need some more CE sanctuary cloths to be able to play like that.

mhhh if your unarmoured is 100 and light is 100, and you where like a robe . does that robe ( becouse robes are for unarmoured ) count its armor rating with your light armor rating. becous if so you could be super powerful . And so if your light( or wathever) is destroyed you still have your unarmoured skill. And something else, robes cant be destroyed right? So unarmoured 100 robe, shirt , pants, nice shoes and your armorclass wont fail you ever!!!!!

Robes have no armor rating. And if you're unarmored, you get no enchanting benefits that would normally accompany some armor.

Hi, Maruchan.
Since I'm playing Morrowind on Xbox, I got a visit by a Dark Brotherhood assassin around character Lvl 6. The Dark Brotherhood is from the Tribunal expansion (I got the Game of the Year version). I killed him and took his stuff. I checked his armor & even though it was Light armor, it surpassed any other Light armor on Vvardenfall. Even better than Chitin Armor. So I went over to Mournhold and check out some smiths... You wouldn't believe how good the armors are in Mournhold.

Hi, Supercat.

If you have unarmoured skill at 100 lvl, that means you are dodging and evading the attacks. Armor rating doesn't matter in combat then.

Personally, I don't like the bulk of Heavy armor, fun to collect though. Like having a whole set of Steel armor with the tower shield. Still I prefer the mobility, especially when you have to travel alot by walking. Right now, I trying to gather glass bits, and get custom made armor from glass.
Love the wild look of spikes from glass.

No, armor rating is still used to determine if you get hit or not. However, there's a mod that gives you 50 dodge points when you have unarmored at 100. Note: A mod...

Yes, Maruchan. I have, that's why I'm gathering all the glass I can.
Solheim is tough, I know. They use Wolf skin armor up there, counts as Light armor.

Dark Brotherhood armor IS cool, I have 2 sets in my Balmora 'Home'. In case I have to kill someone illegally. If I get caught by a guard or an ordinator, at least I have another set.
Those of you who have found the Dark Brotherhood hangout under the Great Bazaar in Mournhold, you can make a lot of money.

David, do you just stay away from medium and heavy armour because you should try to be equal with everything you never know when you will find some nice heavy armour. I mean it is better.
