| | | Level up Alright, it was actually a friend that installed the french version of Morrowind on my computer, and he put in an expansion too.
Now, I hear that when you learn with the trainers, you also level up, but this does not happen with me. I only level up when I learn each skill manually. Could this be the result of the expansion I have (not sure which one it is) or a bug maybe? |

Altogether i woud like just to warn not to be excited too much with leveling up. Coming from plain level-based games players often are under some "level hypnosis". One should get used with the fact that in Morrowind level by itself means virtually nothing (if you do not count the impact on random item selection and level (and sometimes number) of random monsters). The most important part of level system in MW is in changing the attributes.

Which makes me wonder how I saw a post with some guy who reached level 125 or something like that.
I know I'm obsessed with levels...but I'm also thinking that going to prison and lowering your skills might be a good way to gain levels. You lower your skills, pay a low price to raise them, then go to jail and lower them again. Of course this is stupid, but it might account as to how that person reached such a high level.
Anyway, as you said, attributes are the most important, and I heard that the best way to level up is to raise a major/minor skill (or attribute related...like all based on agility) by 10 points...and practise 2 miscellaneous skills (only need one point) for different attributes. This way you get 5x, 2x, 2x.  |

So, level up the Attributes, it makes more impact when you play. |

This way you get 5x, 2x, 2x.  | Don't worry, you do not have to level 75 times to get next 75 points. The minimum is al the same 25 levels. Have you noticed you can add to 3 attributes up to potentially 5 points each when you're gaining new level? So, if you have gotten 10 skill points in skills depending on Strength (say 3 in Armorer + 7 in Blunt), you are offered to add 5 to strength if you wish.

BTW, i usually try to max the Endurance growth (Heavy/Medium Armors and Spear) at first stage of the game because the growth of Health with advancing in level depends on Endurance (10% ot so, IIRC).

Then you can boost your attribute temporary, just for the moment of calling the teacher (either by potion or by spell).

| Well this still means your Attribute has to be higher. Even though it's only temporary it is higher when you train your skill. So what I said still stands true. |

| Well as for the skills I hardly use anything except my loyal longblade. And when I go around slashing stuff I really don't keep track of when it says that my skill leveled up. Then there's athletics and acrobatics. Same thing there.
I can't remember how it was when I played my wizard in Morrowind. After all that was over a year ago, and I just started playing again a few months ago.
At the moment I have a bunch of mods enabled and my character is packing a huge amount of constant effect items so my attributes are in the hundreds. I know it may sound unbalanced but I'm not in it for the challenge at the moment, instead I'm trying to find each and every quest and search for all the small secrets.
And as what comes to the money, well, let's just say I've found quite a lot in the ancestral tombs and daedra shrines out there. |
