| | | Hey, here's a question.
Do we HAVE to answer the same ol' catgories? Especially the boring ones that all seem the same, like
specific place
someone in particular
stuff like that? I mean, when the no lore option is on, all that disappears, right, and we just put it back in?
Could we (if we wanted to) skip a few of the boring ones and add in a bunch of new categories? Like having one npc in particular who's making waves, and everybody's talking about THEM? (Instead of "someone in particular", in which eeeeveryone has to tell you about the "special people" in that town. Bah.)

| | | Since I'm doing Anararen, I might change his "someone in particular" and "services" topics to something unique... may the "s.i.p" could stay the same but be different from others, for example he may hate the thieves guild and slander the rat in the pot, and for services he may give you a detailed guide to the Mages guild service instead of telling you about the whole town.
Also maybe people will tell you more about the services that are nearer to them...
Anyone think this'll unbalance the game? As in making it difficult to locate various services and people... |

But who cares about them, right? | I think you are asking whether or not we are paraphrasing the game's original dialogue, so all the same information is there, just with different words. No. We aren't, we've got some NPCs who on their someone in particular talk about the Duke in Ebonheart, others when asked about a specific place talk about ghostgate, for services players are often subjected to an NPC talking up thier own service, or are refered to another town, so we are not just re-phrasing the topics, but re-writing them.
Sample below, Miner Arobar, Specific Place:
Specific Place: You should hike across to Buckmoth Legion Fort, every great house capital city has one in close proximity, Moonmoth at Balmora, and Wolverine Hall in Sadrith Mora. It’s so the Imperials can keep a close eye on the tense relationships between the Great Houses and intervene if anything gets too bloody.
Miner Arobar is the Redoran War Leader, so it is natural that he would know about the strategic importance of the forts, so his specific place is very different to that of Bolvyn Venim's daughter, included below:
Specific Place: Here in Ald-Ruhn there are a selection of goods for Barter, I’d recommend visiting the Ald-Skar Inn if you’re looking for a good drink. The silt strider platform sits just outside of town, and you can be taken to Khuul, Gnisis, Maar Gan or Balmora for a fee. Ah Balmora… It used to be a great city you know, before House Hlaalu ruined it.
Have I understood the question right?
DM
PS: Note to team A: When you submit the NPC, if you are using a word-file (preferred), please save it as the NPC's name, last time I had about 12 'Maar Gan template.doc' files, each of them with a number after its name, and could never remember what I'd done.
Thanks.

| | | I have some questions as well:
"Your leader will send you a template for each type of NPC". Unfortunately I haven't got anything like that. I don't want to be impatient, but I think that I need it to do the NPC I requested - and it's already the second day. I did some of the topics but I'm not sure about the number of topics in total.
A second thing. I have the "BALMORA, ASCADIAN ISLES DIALOGUE"-Mod. Here's an excerpt from the README, something I think of being a good idea:
"Advanced dialogue is more of a major change to the game. Basically,
most characters know far less information, and you have to either
talk to many people to find that information, or find one of the
few people who does have a tremendous amount of information - often
Bards or Innkeepers, etc."
For example:
Guy A doesn't know about guy XY. But he can tell you that guy B knows much about other people.

But he can tell you that guy B knows much about other people. | The team C templates are in the first post of this thread, since they do not require anything aditional (what I meant was an NPC in Bolvyn Manor would need additional topics such as 'Bolvyn Venim'), these NPCs do not require that. Sorry I should have made that clearer.
The Advanced dialogue you refer to is in our mod as well, for example in Ald Velothi, the woman with all the contacts is known my most, and they mention her, and she can talk about more things, in Khuul, there are a couple of NPCs that know about rumours of different kinds, and the player is told that these NPCs like to gossip, and in Maar Gan we have NPCs throughout the town telling players to talk to the Ashlands scouting team if they want to know about places, these NPCs are found throughout the town.
EDIT: While the example of people knowing each other isn't in Khuul, Ald Velothi or Maar Gan, I think that can be justified from a role-playing point of view, as they are tight-knit communties. Ald'Ruhn is not, and I certainly think its a nice idea, one that I'll certianly be exploring with team A and the manor. I think that is what you mean.

But there's one thing left:
Orangetrashface said that he already made Tauryon. I'm not going to start working on that NPC unless he sais otherwise.

Ilmiril isn't a female, and I didn't realize that until after I wrote Tauryon.
How about this: I'll go ahead and claim Ilmiril and just change all the stuff I wrote for Tauryon over to him.
After I do that I'll begin work on Devel Beleth. Whoever's doing Tuveso Beleth, we should get in touch so we can make them sound like husband and wife.
Orangetrashface
orangetrashface at yahoo.com | I think he's changed the dialogue to another NPC, so you're fine.
btw, check out the edit in my post above.

| Well, actually, this is what I meant.
When scripting, so that you put the "no lore" option in, does it actually TAKE OUT the categories, such as "specific place" and "little secret", or does it just remove the npc's reply to it? Because I was thinking how it might be neat to leave out a few of those categories altogether, and put in some new ones, much like M'Aiq the Liar, but not nessessarily so crazy.
Come on, DM, you know I know better than to just paraphrase! Sheesh!
So anyway, that is my question. May I please drop "specific place" and put in "my hobby". Just as an example, of the top of my head.

| | | Question:
Tuveso and Devel Beleth are listed as group C (I'm supposed to do Devel), but I looked and they are both in a shop in Under-Skar. Should I go ahead and do it anyway, or is this a mistake and it's really part of team A's job? |
