Items stuck next to NPCs

I placed some items on the floor next to an NPC merchant that does not move and I can not get the crosshair to focus on the item to retrieve it. I always get focus on the NPC no matter which direction I try or how far away I get. Is there anyway to either make the NPC move (outside of killing it) or make the item the point of focus?

You could attack... run around and then pick your item...

After that report your crime for guard.. but taunting would be better idea..(you dont get expelled. (if that merchant is part of same guild/house))

There's a plug-in that allows you to ask npc's to move. It's at Morrowind Summit somewhere... I'll try and find it for you when I get finished changing the kid's diapers...

Thanks for the tip, never thought of that. Figured the merchant would hate me forever and I need the ingredients from time to time

Glad I'm past the diaper changing stage. Hard to believe something so disgusting can come out of something so cute. lol. After that you deserve a tall cool one. I'll take a look myself, thanks for the pointer!
