Intresting query

Has anyone else had the misfortune of an item, randomly turning into something else when you take it into your inventory?

heres the story:

I was doing the house Hlallu missions and the mission where you have to exchange the Ascadian isles ownership papers, unfortunately i had already stolen them beforehand and they were sitting on the floor in a building, however, when i tried to pick them up a random m,essage came up telling me some crap then when i'd spammed the action button enough i picked them up, however when inside my inventory the had mysterously turned into the treasury orders.

Why?

this kinda thing happened to me aswell, i think it jus automatically completes that bit of the mission, talk to the guy again and he should tell you the next thing to do!
if that dont work then try stealing them again, u never know they may have respawned!

Why!!?? Why dd you steal a quest item? why on earth would you do that, never steal a quest item, it never works, i tried, i stole like 5 important papers and they all transformed, never do it!

BTW: i was doing the mission for the ashlanders where you have to find the bonemold(?) longbow in these funky caves southeast(?) of the camp, where the HECK IS IT? i spent hours looking foer the bugger and now i have decided that it cant be there unless you could offer me some insight into where it is?

it's allllllllllllll the way at the top of the place umm...u no... ther's supposed to be like *name* burial ground on one floor and when u go to the nex for *another name*burial ground or somtin like that an... JUST KEEP LOOKING IT'S THERE! lol don worry jus remember to keep goin up and eventually u'll find it

Yeah there is thing big room, off the main room go left, than left again across water, then go through the door, there is this huge pillar, climb it and go all the way to the very top tomb, its in there in the back
