Question Help! Killed Demnevanni in Gnisis. Mistake?

I went to Gnisis and entered Arvs-Drelen. After killing the rats and skeletons below, I got to the top and saw the daedroth. I killed it, without realizing there were others in the room, including Baladas Demnevanni. He attacked me, so I killed him. Have I messed anything up in terms of the future (especially the main quest)? I know he's Telvanni, but I'm Redoran. I just want to know if this is going to make future gameplay more difficult.

Baladas Demnevanni fits into a couple of quests, but mostly not to worry unless you were a telvanni. The only non-telvanni quest he matters for is the mage's guild "disappearance of the dwarves" quest, and he's not essential for that one. Another NPC can fulfill the same function he does for that particular quest.

just for future reference, if you ever kill someone who is essential to the main plot you will get a message saying so.
