Guild conflicts

Are there any known conflicts in the game that would keep me from advancing past Knight Errant in the Imperial legion? All of my skills are at 100 or close to it and I have completed all quests from each quest giver in each fort.

Are you sure you talked to every questgiver ? There are 5 of them all together, maybe you missed one ?

The only know conflict is between the Fighters and Thieves Guilds, and concerns the code book held by Sotilde in the South Wall Corner Club in Balmora.

There are many posts about this in this and other forums if you are interested.

Hey guys thank you for the response. Here are the last quests that I completed for each quest giver:

1. Darius(Gnisis): I brought him proof of his troops' treacherous plans and killed Oritius Maro and Arius Rulician.

2. Ismin the Dreamer(Buckmoth): I brought her the glove(token of love). She will make sure it is returned to the Buoyant Armiger.

3. Radd Hard-Heart(Moonmoth): I killed Sorkvild the Raven

4. Frald the White(Hawkmoth/Ebonhart): I found Saprius Entius in vivec and returned him to Frald and Frald told me that he would be brought to justice in the empire.

5.Varus Vantinius(Ebonhart): Will not allow me to quest for him because I am not of sufficient rank.

Actually I UNDERexaggerated my skills just a bit
Here is how my Attributes and skills break down:

ATTRIBUTES
1.Endurance: 39752
2.Personality: 39863

Skills
1. Athletics: 39
2. Spear: 3325
3. Longblade: 10144
4. Blunt Weapon: 4734
5. Heavy Armor: 6
6. Block: 20

I used the soultrap glitch and the bound weapons tricks to beef some of them up.

Any other ideas guys?

There's also the thieves' job in Mages Guild what may cause complications if one's unlucky enough to be caught. Altogether on both ocassions one can find a harmless solution.

I do not know if Telvani line might have more, though.

Have you talked to any of the quest givers besides Varus? I think you have to be Knight protector before Varus will give you his quests. Try talking to one of them to see if they will advance you to Knight Bachelor and then to Knight Protector.

I also had trouble in the fighters guild because I had already bribed eydis fire-eye as a member of the theives guild. I had to turn from percius and do the quests for the orc in vivec and then after I killed the 2 people he wanted me to kill I could advance no further and Sjoring would not give me any quests.

Ooops you replied before I edited. Hmmm I don't know why the others won't advance you to the next 2 ranks. Varus won't give you a quest until you gain the higher rank.

Yes - set the high attributes and skills to a lower value (~100) and then see if the Imperial Legion will advance you.

Sorry,

I cannot change the values back to 100 or less because I am playing the xbox version and there is no console command for it.

I guess I owe a small apology to xbox users, but it seems that many of them take a rather cavalier attitude towards that game and then there is great wailing and gnashing of teeth when they get into trouble.
For all of the faults that people find with the game it is very cutting edge, and forces you to either follow the story or mess around, but not both, and xboxers pay the price of trying to do just that.
And yes, I take assisting people seriously - another forum has even asked me to moderate because of that.
