Editor Help

Can someone please help me edit the interior of my stronghold? In my private chambers I want to add a few shelves, and, if possible, maybe a working practice dummy so I can level up when I dont feel like doing anything else. I have loaded the morrowind.esm file, brought up Bal Isra, and on the list of things it contains there are no containers besides agricultural ones. For some reaosn I can't edit the interior of my place. I also want to unlock a chest in my room, but I cant find which one it is on the big list. If someone could give me step by step instuctions how to use the editor I would greatly appreciate it.

Hm, since Bal Isra gets contructed in-game, I'm not sure if any changes you make will take effect this game. Changes made to containers seem not to be retroactive. Since this area is one contructed in-game as part of the stronghold quest, be very careful what you change here. I'd recommend just building your own from scratch. There is a good tutorial here.

Alrighty, then. Clicking on the doormarker to the main building in Bal Isra, we discover the name of the interior is Indarys Manor. So, load up this cell by finding Indarys Manor in the Cell View window and double-click on it to load it into the Render window. Next, to make the job of finding the appropriate container easier, click on the Type bar under Indarys Manor Objects in the cell view window. This will cause the items to be sorted by type. Scroll down the list until you find containers and look through them until you find the one you want. Double-click on it to center it in the Render window, then double-click on it in the Render window. About containers: so far it appears that any changes you make to containers are global changes, so if that container is used elsewhere in the game, it is also changed.

Most objects you'll add can be found under the Static tab in the Object window, like the practice dummy (Furn_Practice_Dummy). You add them by dragging them into your Render window. To add them to interiors, I've found it's best to be looking at the room from a top-down view and a bit panned out - otherwise the editor tends to place the objects under the floor. You can get them to drop to the floor by repeatedly pressing f.

Use a Scroll of Ekash's Lock-Splitter - I always find several of these in dungeons. Another option is to buy the spell Ondussi's Open Door, then enchant an item with 100% Unlock.

The chest with 75 lock level has a bunch of gold.
